Hong closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Chai's guard.
Hong engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Chai trying to keep a closed guard but Hong is proving a slippery customer.
Chai has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Master Chai's Dojo. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Hong content to stall in guard here.
Chai preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Chai really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hong. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Hong dives in for a single leg takedown but Chai sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Chai can't find room to land a body shot as Hong controls the action.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hong tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Chai just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hong has Chai pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Chai manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lem Hong. That's going to take a lot out of him.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Chai creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Hong.
Chai lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. #BC2#
Chai manages to break the clinch.
Hong waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chai.
Chai works Hong's body with a nice hook.
Nice shot by Chai.
Hong takes a swing at Chai's ribcage but misses.
Chai connects with a nice looking jab.
Chai scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hong staying out of range there.
Chai stuns Hong with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Chai cracks Hong with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Chai avoids the body shot from Hong.

Chai tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hong was well out of range. Poor timing from Chai.
Chai cracks Hong on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Hong falls backwards against the cage. Chai follows up with more strikes that drop Hong to his knees. Chai keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Hong! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Malik The Little King Chai!
After winning the bout, Malik The Little King Chai thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. |

Hong takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Hong takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Kourov sizes up Hong with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Hong throws a looping overhand right but Kourov ducks down to avoid it.
Kourov scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Kourov will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hong feints and as Kourov raises his hands in defense, Hong changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hong is standing up over Kourov. Kourov looks to escape but Hong dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#REVB#
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.#SUB#
Hong has hold of Kourov's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kourov tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hong cranks the arm and Kourov screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kourov, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
