Ville Villunen really struggled with his weight cut for this fight. After coming in at 148.8, he had two hours to cut the additional weight. He was unable to do so and as a result, his fight with Devin Brown was cancelled.

Verme dives in and grabs Magomedov 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Magomedov pushes down on Verme's head and hops out.
Verme looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Magomedov is fending him off so far but Verme persists. Nope, Magomedov circles away and we're back to standing.
Verme tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Magomedov defends well and Verme ends up having to push Magomedov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sergei Magomedov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Giulio Verme.
Verme closes the distance and clinches up with Magomedov , looking for a takedown. Verme pushes Magomedov against the cage but Magomedov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Magomedov tries to counter with a takedown but Verme is quick to defend against it.
Magomedov misses with a leg kick.
Verme misses with a takedown attempt - Magomedov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Magomedov has been working on his balance at WolfPac Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Verme.

Pulver is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Villunen presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Villunen wants to break free but Pulver has control.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A nice glancing elbow lands by Pulver.
Villunen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pulver walks away with a smile on his face. Villunen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Pulver lands with a thumping leg kick.
Villunen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Villunen takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Jawbreaker with a poor takedown
and Verme counters with a one-two to the body.
Verme tries to clinch there but Jawbreaker circles away.
Jawbreaker feints and then cracks Verme's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Verme down. #CL#

Sloppy strikes from Jawbreaker. Those never looked like landing.
Verme tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Verme.

Verme pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Verme throws a right hand that Magomedov ducks under and follows up with a left that Magomedov also avoids with ease.
Verme shoots in for a double leg but Magomedov sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Magomedov 's coach down at WolfPac Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Magomedov 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Giulio Verme. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Verme turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Magomedov off and cradles Verme's limp body as Magomedov celebrates with his corner.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Kimura has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Villunen should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Kimura has tightened it up now! Villunen should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Naked Kimura decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Sanford wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sanford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
