Stern lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cain looks for a takedown but Stern sprawls well.
Stern blocks a head kick by Cain.
Despite the aggression on Stern's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Shaw went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Shaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Shuhan.
Stern stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Stern wants it to stay on the feet.
Stern feints a jab promting Shuhan to slip. Stern then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Shuhan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Stern scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bell is trying to push Stern away but Stern has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Stern misses with a hook to the ribs.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Bell.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Stern.
Andrew Stern seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.#T1#
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Stern creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Stern jumps guard but Bell stands there with Stern around his waist. Stern gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Stern's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Stern drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bell gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Bell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bell, right into the meat.
Bell tries to clinch there but Stern circles away.
Stern wants to counter with a clinch but Bell pushes him away.

Stern buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Stern changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bell tries to avoid it but Stern manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bell to the ground. Bell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stern swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bell misses with a double jab
and Stern counters with a two punch combo.
Stern lands an overhand right.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Stern throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Stern tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Bell counters with a low kick, right behind Stern 's knee.
Bell takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK. #T3##TD#
Bell shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stern is trying to defend but Bell finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Stern is looking for a sweep. Bell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.#SU#
Bell stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Stern to get to his feet.
Stern throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Stern. That snapped Bell's head back.
Bell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stern pinned against the cage. Stern gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.#T4#
Bell chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stern can pounce on him.
Stern fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Stern lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. #ROC2#

Stern shoots in for a takedown. He's got it... He's hoisted his opponent over his head and is carrying him over to the other end of the mat. The crowd roars in approval and Stern slams his opponent to the mat. OH, that is naaaaaasty! He's out! Stern lands a punch to his unconscious victim for good measure before the ref has time to call the fight.

It looks like Hercule Stern has been cut.
Stern is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Stern is still in real trouble! Can Kay finish him?
Kay loads up with a big shot that hurts Stern! He's pulled Kay in close but Kay has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Stern survive? More strikes from Kay and Stern is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kaleb Kay!

Stern looks to land a combination. Benson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Benson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Stern works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Stern fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Benson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Stern getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Benson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Stern feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bensons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Stern lands with an overhand left.
Benson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stern lands a jab to the nose.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Benson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Alex Stern seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stern wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Stern lands with a nice body punch.
Stern's corner calls for a 1-2. Stern obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Benson moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.#TD#
Benson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Stern is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Benson dives into side control. #T1##REVB#

Benson shoots in looking for a takedown. Stern tries to sprawl out of it but Benson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stern manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Benson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Stern pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Benson back to the cage. Stern follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Stern scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. #ROC2#

Oh Benson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stern throws an overhand right that drops Benson like a sack of potatoes! Stern dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
