Number sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Rou Joukani seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

BAM! Joukani delivers a spinning backfist that drops Number like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Rou Joukani decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mahesa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Shank wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
