VERSUS - Thursday Thunder IX 23rd feb
Hello fellow fight fans soul here once again to take a look over The Thursday Thunder card , I have decided to choose three hard to call fights off each fight card and I will try to highlight all levels be it champions to novice , how long my predictions last time will tell lol. Anyway lets get on with it and look at the main event of the evening :-
Up Loaded 15-4 Vs Joe "Microbe" Garelli 23-6
This fight is for the 170lbs title , UPLODED is the current VERSUS champion and this will be his fourth defense of the title he won back in november last year , all previous org. fight have ended quickly via his fists.you would have to go back nearly a year to find a defeat on his record , he is a well rounded fighter as all good champions are , dont let the KO wins fool you into thinking he is just a standup fighter , many of those KOs have come via GNP . so he is equaly dangerous up or down. His opponent for the title clash is JOE the microbe GARELLI ,Joe is making his VERSUS debute after he blazed a trail over at UKMMA infact he left as the defending 180 lbs champion and is looking to quickly regain a belt be it at a lower weight.Garelli has been in with the very best London has to offer and has only been stopped three times in his 29 fight career , he is what you would call a "serieal subber" with 14 submissions on his record to date (will he get an armbar?) this fighter prefers the ground but is a double exeptional in the standup his two tko losses have been on the ground so you know he has a granit chin , couple this with his ground game and he is a masive threat to anyone.
SOUL PREDICTS - damm! you dont get much closer on paper either fighter could win , but i am going for the challenger GARELLI via a submission in one or two and this fighter loves to armbar!
Donatello Crizanto 7-3 Vs Michael Jones 2-0
I chose this fight because its an interesting one CRIZANTO is the elder by two years and the more experienced of the two he has the power to knock people out coupled with world class MT throw in him being a cardio machine and you get the picture , however this is his first fight in VERSUS and he may find the compertition diffrent , speaking of diffrent lets look at JONES at 21 is he is just a boy but he performs like a man , a very well rounded fighter for his age and comes from the LUKAS S stable so you know he is going to be good , in my opinion as of yet not realy tested , he has lethal MT with KO power in both fists and a good ground game.This fight will show if all those hours spent in the gym have paid off and if he has his gameplan set right for his skills.
SOUL PREDICTS - This will come down to three things , who has the best chin , who has the best physicals , and who have set thier sliders right , and im comming down on CRIZANTOs side in this one i think the two extra years trainning would have been to good effect , KO-ROUND TWO
Mariusz Pudzian 8-6 Vs Anton Alexandrov 7-9
PUDZIAN comes into this fight ranked 1200 places infront of his opponent he is a solid boxer with sensational wrestling and has exeptional speed 3-1 since joinning VERSUS he looks to be turrning his carrer back around and has found a winning combo , five of his losses have come from KOs and that always has to be considered when setting this guys sliders , and i suspect the will be set to "get the f@@@@r down!". ALEXANDROV is making his debut for VERSUS after a stint over at TROID ,what he brings is one game and thats submissions , submissions , submissions , he has good takedowns but against a sensational wrestler he will not be dictating where this fight is going to happen , he has mediocre standup and has lost six fights by kos. He will be looking to take this down if he can.
SOULS PREDICTION - Pudzian should win this but he will have to be carefull and consider his opponents strengths not just his own , both fighters are not great in the standup and normaly both would want to go to ground as soon as possible , to avoid another knock out , it all depends on what tier ALEXANDROVS brown belt is at , but in the end you just cant ignore the sensational wrestling of PUDZIAN , PUDZIAN TKO STRIKES either one or two
