BFT 273: Mazzarri vs Atsushi 4 Review

Heavyweight - BFT newcomer Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko cut open 2x BFT Award Winner "Demolition Man" Alistair Overeem at 4:57 in round 1 forcing the ref to stop the fight.

This fight saw a lot of striking action, mostly in the clinch. Emelianenko was really cracking Overeem with elbows and knees in the clinch. Overeem was throwing, but Emelianenko was able to avoid taking too much damage. It started with an early knee from Fedor that cut open Overeem. Overeem was able to respond with a nice elbow that cut open Fedor, but then Fedor cut open Overeem with some nice elbows of his own. He took some really bad shots from those elbows and it started looking like a horror movie. Overeem broke the clinch up in hopes of making it into round 2 to get his cut treated a little bit; Fedor had other plans. After a few nice shots, Fedor dropped Overeem with a nice left and hurt him bad. It really opened up that gash on Overeem's head and the ref had to stop the fight.

Lightweight - The former KOTC Lightweight Champion Janek "Dragao" Smok Unanimous Decisions the Valhalla, RCS and BFT veteran "Le dechireur" Bonhomme Sept Heures.

In round 1, Smok wanted to assert himself as a power house on the ground. After stopping a few good takedowns, Sept Heures couldn't stop them all and was on his back for the remainder of the round. Smok was very controlling and dominant on top. The second round started with another takedown about Sept Heures was a little more active this time with a few sprinkled submission attempts. But Smok was still dominant throughout the round, going more actively for submissions. In the third round, Bonhomme was doing everything possible from keeping this fight from going to the mats or judges. He was actively throwing strikes and keeping Smok from getting the fight from going to the ground. He was landing some solid punches, kicks, and even a few knees. He did everything he could to get the knockout, but Smok was able to hold on and get his decision victory.

Co-Main - Heavyweight - BFT title contender hopeful "The Freak" Brock Lesnar submits 6x BFT Submission of the Night Winner Frank Mir with a triangle choke at 1:31 in round 3.

Mir was fine keeping the fight standing early, where he was landing the better shots. But he saw the oppurtunity to take the fight to the mats and he did such... right into side control! From there he was fairly controlling until he goofed on a leg lock that let Lesnar hop on top. Even though Mir gave up his back at one point, he was still able to recover his position and end up back on top. The two men were willing to trade on the mattrading takedowns and submission attempts until thr round ended. A very close round, but looked like Mir was able to get a leg up on Mir. Lesnar went for a triangle choke, but it was a little too loose. He went for another one after a little more set-up and was able to sink it in tight and quick. He was down on the score cards, but definately walked away with a solid 'W'.

Main Event - Lightweight Title! - The reigning BFT Lightweight Champion "Mace" Enrico Mazzarri Unanimous Decisions the long time former BFT Lightweight Champion "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi to successfully defend his title under his second title run for the first tiem and to bring the Mazzarri-Atsushi fights 3-1 in favor of Mazzarri.

The first round had the two men trading blows for a while before Atsushi was able to take the fights to the mats. Mazzarri was trying to fight it off with a guillotine attempt, but Atsushi was able to keep the train rolling. He was able to work his way into full mount before the end of the round and was successfully able to end the round on top. In round 2, Mazzarri was able to get on top and definately made Atsushi uncomfortable. He worked him over with ground and pound and submission attempts. The two men trade positions periodically, but at the end Mazzarri was able to hold on to the top position more and hurt Atsushi more. The way that round 3 started was with a solid exchange that ended with Mazzarri countering a leg kick with a takedown. Atsushi was actively looking on the finish and was going for the several submission attempts, but Mazzarri was able to keep out of danger and keep active enough to take the round. With momentum on his side, round 4 was in Mazzarri's favor. He was able to get the takedown and was able to land some serious ground and pound from the top. Mazzarri went for some submission attempts on the dreary eyed Atsushi, but it was to no avail. Atsushi was able to get up at the end of the round to try and lay it all out in one final 5 minute round. Mazzarri went for another takedown right away. Atsushi went for solid submission attempts, but Mazzarri was attentive and able to fight off the attempts. Mazzarri, as tired as he was, was still working on keeping getting the decision, and was successful in doing so.

BFT - 269 Choake vs Small Review

Middleweight - The former BFT Lightweight Title Challenger and outstandingly 43 BFT Fight vet Keiji "Mach" Numa submit the former BFT Middleweight Champion and astonishingly 42 BFT fight vet Damian "Dima" Nitschke with a triangle choke with 5 seconds remaining in round 1 to get his first victory over Damian in the trilogy.

Nitschke started off really agressive on the feet and was looking to finish things at the distance. But Numa was on the ball and was able to dodge everything that Nitschke had. Numa then went to take things to the mat, but Nitschke was able to flip things over and get to a dominant position. From there Nitschke was able to land some successful shots. But Numa kept throwing up submissions until something stuck. Nitschke looked like he was on his way to a successful round victory. But Numa was throwing up his legs for a triangle choake, but it was pretty loose. Numa locked things in and pulled on Nitschke's head like there was no tomorrow. Nitschke was forced to tap out.

Light Heavyweight - The former BFC Middleweight Champion Trinidad Suarez knocked out 19-fight BFT veteran Forrest Gryphen with strikes in the last second of the second round.

Suarez started things off by going right for a takedown. He was able to get it and really showed Gryphen why he didn't want that to happen. Gryphen spend most of the round on his back as Suarez was raining down strikes like a bomber plane. Gryphen was doing his best to stay in it, but Suarez was reallying putting down some hurt on Gryphen. He made it to the second round, but Suarez wanted things back on the ground. The ground and pound continued to rain down from Suarez until the ref called it for Suarez.

Co-Main - Light Heavyweight - The Former U.H.F. Light Heavyweight Champion "The Thing" Enting Butikol KO'ed another former U.H.F. Light Heavyweight Champion Justin Jones with a punch at 2:13 in round 2 to set him 2-0 in their match-ups.

This one saw some quick clinch action where Butikol was throwing fast and furious, and was even able to cut Jones. Jones was able to get a takedown, but the ref stood them back up and Butikol was too agressive in the clinch and at the distance for Jones for the rest of the round. Even though Jones did get another takedown, he didn't do enough to let the ref keep them down. Against, what I would assume would have been, the advice of his corner, Jones brought the fight back into the clinch. Butikol was just destroying Jones with strike after strike until the ref was forced to stop the fight.

Main Event - Welterweight Title! - The former BFT Welterweight Champion "The Kraken" Jermaine Choake submit the former BFT Welterweight Title Challenger, going for his second attempt at the belt, and 5 time BFT Bonus Winner Pat Small with an armbar at 1:53 in round 3 to set their match-up at 2-0 in favor of Choake and to claim the BFT Welterweight Belt. With this, Choake became the first 2 time BFT Welterweight Champion and the 10th lineal champion.

Pat Small looked good in the first round. Even though Choake was able to get two takedowns and looked pretty impressive while he was on the mats, at the distance and in the clinch Pat Small was landing with some serious leather. The second round, however, seemed to take place mostly on the mats, much to the pleasure of "The Kraken." He was able to wrastle him down and really use that great jiu jitsu that he has. Overall, it seemed as though Choake had gotten his second wind in that round. The third round started pretty well for Small, as he was landing some nice strikes from the clinch again, but Choake was able to get the takedown again. This time he wasn't letting go. Even though he messed up on a leg lock and ended up on bottom, Choake never gave up and used that opportunity to try to get a triangle choake. When that wasn't working for him, he went ahead and changed it into an armbar that really had Small extended. It wasn't long before Small was in a gator roll and was tapping to get out of that thing. Choake manages to reclaim the title after a back and forth battle.

BFT - 264: Chelios vs Zanotto

Light Heavyweight - The former U.H.F. Light Heavyweight Champion Justin Jones Unanimous Decisions the Former CFA and Supremacy Light Heavyweight Champion Raphael "The Legend of Yelawolf" Bowie.

This one started with Justin Jones taking Bowie down to the ground. Bowie stayed on top of his game, though, by threatening with submission attempts. With that being said, Jones was not a slouch either, throwing some ground and pound attempts of his own. Bowie was able to land a great sweep, but Jones worked on some submission attempts of his own. The two continued to roll on the ground for a while until the ref stood them up. Jones then clinched things up and brough the fight back to the mats before the end of the round. Bowie took the fight to the mat right away in round 2. The two traded submission attempts immediately, with neither man really gettinf much off submission wise. The entirety of the second round took place on the mats. The two men were rolling around looking to land shots, sink submissions, and hold onto the dominant position. It was a thinker of a round, but Jones was able to hold it together. The third round had Bowie on his back quickly. The two men continued to tango on the mats, but it was Jones who would end up walking as the victor.

Heavyweight - 12x BFT vet "The Freak" Brock Lesnar submits 23x BFT vet "Rat" January Kwiecinski with a kimura at 54 seconds in the very first round.

This was a quick one. Lesnar went for the takedown after taking a kick to the head. He landed with a nice shot before he clinched up the kimura that finished it.

Co-Main - Welterweight - The former BFT Welterweight Champion and 13X BFT Bonus winner "The Kraken" Jermaine Choake Unanimous Decisions the former Bellum and LA Combat Welterweight Champion Brian "The IronHorse" Stanson.

Choake worked quickly to bring the fight to the mats. From there he continually worked on keeping a great position and landing some killer strikes. There were a few submission attempts thrown in there, but nothing was overly successful. By the end of the first round, Jermaine Choake was safely in the lead. The second round had Stanson try things on the mat, but Choake was prepared. He worked from his back into top position and was able to work over Stanson before the ref stood them up. Before the round came to a close, Choake was able to get a takedown of his own off. The final round had a takedown from Choake control dictate the round. Choake continued with his onslaught of ground and pound with scattered submission attempts. By the end of the round, Stanson's face was swollen up and bloodied up that his kin would have a hard time recognizing him.

Main Event - Middleweight - The reigning BFT Middleweight Champion Chev Chelios knocked out The former CFA and Supremacy Middleweight Title Challenger and 4 time BFT Bonus winner Ben Zanotto with strikes at 10 seconds into the second round to defend his title successfully for the fourth time.

Chev Chelios was looking to land some solid shots at the distance in round 1. Zanotto had different plans as he took the fight to the mats after taking a few shots. The ref didn't like the pace on the mats, so he stood them back up. Zanotto enjoyed that and was landing some nice shots Zanotto didn't have much of a response for what Chelios was throwing. Zanotto was taking some hard shots and looked hurt by the end of the round. When round two got started, Chelios went back on it like the end of the first and Zanotto looked like he was still on wobbly legs. Chelios put the pressure on with a solid combo and put Zanotto down to retain his belt.

BFT 262 Review

Lightweight - The two time BFT Title Challenger "Stoneface" Samuel Vimes Unanimous Decisioned the 52-fight vet and BFT name stead Suchart "Fishbowl" Chaowanungkarn.

Sam Vimes was pouring it out in volume early. He was throwing it all out at the distance and Fishbowl was eating a good number of shots. Fishbowl was able to land a few shots of his own, but Vimes had it on volume. Heck, the second round had a lot of the same. The two men were content to throw at the distance, with neither one really backing down. Vimes' offence was really strong, but Fishbowl never showed signed of backing down. By the time the third round rolled around, Vimes looked like he was starting to feel winded. He was eating a lot of leg kicks from Fishbowl and it looked like Vimes was feeling the effect of them. Fishbowl, however, was not able to string together enough of an offence to put Vimes down. Both men showed their toughness, and both men made their way to a decision. Although the last round had a controversial scoring, Vimes looked good enough to take the fight.

Heavyweight - Two time BFT bonus winner currently riding a 9 fight winning streak Buster Hymen KO'ed 5 Time BFT submission of the night winner Joe "Armbar" Kimura with a huge punch at 4 seconds left in the first round.

Hymen had a great execution of his game plan here. He successfully defended the takedown while landing some demolisihing shots. As the round came to a close, Hymen landed a hook on the temple that dropped Kimura. Then an uppercut that did similarly. And a hard right jab that finished him off for the final time. Three strikes and your out for Kimura.

Lightweight - The former BFT Lightweight Champion and the only person to be in the wrong location for the Grand Prix "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi Unanimous Decisioned 57-fight vet and 2 time BFT title Challenger "Mini" Fenton Meeks.

Almost the entirety of the first round took place on the feet. Although both men were very active with their punches, it was Atsushi who looked more active. I think it was his successful (and highly accurate) integration of kicks into his arsenol. As the round closed, Atsushi was able to get the takedown to secure the round for him. Round two started and Meeks was interested in clinching it up. Although Meeks was throwing pretty well, Atsushi was able to negate most any offence that Meeks brought to him. Atsushi broke the clinch up and dove back down for a takedown successfully. But it was Meeks this time, who was able to successfully negate the offense put forth by Atsushi. The ref had no choice but to stand them up. Back at the feet, Atsushi was able to get back into the swing of things to keep the momentum on his side going into the final round. In the third round, Atsushi went for a takedown early, but couldn't convince the ref to keep them down there. They went at it at the distance for a while there, but that wasn't a problem for Atsushi. He saw another oppurtunity to bring the fight to the ground and did such, but it wasn't for long. The last minute of action was held at the feet, but all signs pointed to Atsushi. Meeks certainly put up a fight, but it was Atsushi who undoubtedly walked out the winner.

Co-Main - Light Heavyweight - The 2 time BFT Bonus winner and former BLOODSPORT Light Heavyweight Champion Dale Fernhart submit the former BFC Middleweight Champion Trinidad Suarez with a guillotine at 3 seconds remaining in the first round.

Fernhart took a few solid shots from Suarez early and decided he had enough of that. Fernhart took the fight to the mat, where things didn't bode too well for him. Suarez was able to reverse the position and land some solid ground and pound strikes. It took some time, but Fernhart found a lull in the action and was able to sink in an Alpha Male-esque guillotine. It was tight, quick, and finished it in a jiffy. A come back victory for Fernhart.

Main Event - Lightweight Title Fight! - The former BFT Lightweight Champion "Mace" Enrico Mazzarri submit the BFT Lightweight Champion Malaipet "The Diamond" Sasiprapa with an armbar at 3:41 in the fifth and final round to avenge his loss and become the eigth linear champion and regain his champion status.

In the first round, Malaipet was able to get a quick takedown (but didn't do much with it). The ref took it up for him, but Sasiprapa worked his way into the clinch soon after. He was throwing hard and fast and before you knew it, the round ended. Sasiprapa looked great in the first and was able to take it. The second round had the two men throw at the distance for a while. Mazzarri was doing a pretty good avoiding shots, but Sasiprapa was still landing some nice ones. The two men really threw it all out there. Sasiprapa worked hard on keeping the fight at the distance and blocked several takedowns throughout the round. With a few seconds left, Mazzarri pulled guard and tried to get something off, but Sasiprapa just took it in stride and made it through to the next round. The third round saw more of the clinch action take place. Both men were showing signs of exhaustion, but Mazzarri was feeling it more, with takedown attempt after attempt being stuffed. It wasn't until the end of the round that Mazzarri was able to get the takedown. It wasn't enough, however, to get anything really going and Malaipet still had some momentum going into the fourth round. This time Mazzarri was able to get the take down with plenty of time to spare. He wirked hard on landing some solid ground and pound and went for a decent submission attempt. It was a long shot, but he went for it. Momentum looked like it was turning in favor of Mazzarri. After a solid exchange between both fighters, the fifthe round had Mazzarri get another successful takedown midway through the fight. With some solid shoulder strikes, he opened Sasiprapa up for an armbar attempt. He pulled on that arm, broke the grip, and had Sasiprapa tapping on that sucker than you can say Ouchies. Mazzarri walks out with the title once more.

Undercard:

Quick Recap of the Grand Prix!

For those of you who follow BFT, you know that the 3rd round of the Grand Prix happened over the holidays and with the Final round up coming fast, now is the best time to look at the latest rounds of the GP.

BFT Light Heavyweight Champion Dallas MacMillian looked to out strike and show his dominance over the BFT Middleweight Champion Chev Chelios. Although Chelios showed what made him a champion by taking every shot MacMillan landed without giving up, MacMillan showed just how dominant he is. With neither man looking to take the fight to the ground, MacMillan punched, kicked, elbowed and kneed his way to a solid decision victory.

In a bloody battle that saw both men leave it all out there, The Heavyweight Champion Hagen Germanicus fell short on the judges score cards which lead Kim Jong into the final round of the GP. It was a huge comeback for Jong who was rocked early in the first round. It looked like Germanicus might have been able to end it, but Jong stuck in there, bit down, and threw out there everything he could to get the fight to turn in his favor. And it worked. I look forward to see him fight for the Heavyweight Title against Hagen.

But first thing's first, Dallas MacMillian will fight Kim Jong to see who will be the first BFT Grand Prix Champion.

BFT - 256: Grand Prix Round 2 PPV

We made our way into the quarter finals of the Grand Prix. Not a single one of the GP fights went to a decision. In addition to that, this card matched the highest attended BFT event, was the second highest rated BFT card at 409.88, and had the highest PPV sales to date at 54,677. It was an exciting card with a lot of finishes, so let's get started

Lightweight - The former BFT Welterweight Champion and BFT Hall of Famer Guilherme "Buscape" Alves knocked out RCS, Valhalla, and FCD vet "Le dechireur" Bonhomme Sept Heures with strikes with one second remaining in the first round.

Heures brought the fight into the clinch and was landing well with some short punches and elbows. With the success Alves was having in the clinch, he brought it back there when the broke off. After a streak of successful blows, Alves dove for a takedown that was successful and started to work Sept Heures over with some ground and pound. Sept Heures went for some submission attempts, but Alves was fully alert and prepared for anything that Sept Heures was throwing. Alves kept the ground and pound flowing until the ref had to jump in and call it a knockout finish. Nice ground and pound from the Alves corner!

Lightweight - The former BFT Lightweight Champion "Mace" Enrico Mazzarri submit the former KOTC Lightweight Champion and BFT new commer Janek "Dragao" Smok with a rear naked choke at 22 seconds in the very first round.

This one was cut and dry. Mazzarri went for the takedown, and went right for the rear naked choke. Nice grappling from Mazzarri.

Grand Prix Quarter Final Match - The current BFT Middleweight Champion Chev Chelios knocked out the former BFT Lightweight Title Challenger with 7 BFT bonuses Keiji "Mach" Numa with Punches at 3:32 in round 1.

Chelios looked good at the distance and was very agressive. Numa dove in for the takedown, and was successful. He went for a submission attempt, but it was was to no avail. Chelios held on long enough to get the fight back to a verticle position. He then land a horrific combination that had Numa out for the count. Chelios makes it to the semi-finals!

Grand Prix Quarter Final Match - The former CFA Super Heavyweight Champion and former CFA and DUFF Heavyweight Champion "Fat pig" Kim Jong submit the current BFT Welterweight Champion Akihito "Rikiya" Tatsuhiko Jr with an armbar at 4:55 in round 1.

Tatsuhiko brought the fight to the ground pretty quickly, but Jong wasn't 100% caught off gaurd. He was going for submission attempts while Tatsuhiko was landing some nice ground and pound. If Tatsuhiko was a little more active, he may have been able to get the finish. Instead, Jong was able to stick on an armbar until the round came to a conclusion. Jong was able to survive the ground and pound and submit his way into the semi-finals!

Grand Prix Quarter Final Match - The current BFT Heavyweight Champion Hagen "The Barbarian" Germanicus KO'ed the 2 time former UPF Welterweight Title Challenger Oktawian "The Caesar" August with strikes at 2:55 in round 1.

It was almost a flash knock out! Germanicus started off by eating low kick, and then landed a giant uppercut that knocked August down, rocked his world, and cut him open. Germanicus dove into his gaurd looking to follow up with the ground and pound. But August was able to get himself together enough to throw some submissions up, but Germanicus was determined to land the ground and pound until he successfully put out August's lights. Germanicus ground and pound his way to the semi-finals!

Grand Prix Quarter Final Match - The Current BFT Light Heavyweight Champion "Lone Star" Dallas MacMillan knocked out the 4 time BFT Light Heavyweight Champion Titus "Tko" Kahoohalphala with strikes at 5:19 in round 2 to bring their series of fights to 4-0 in favor of MacMillan.

The two men began to trade off at the distance well. TKO got the takedown and went to work, especially with those submission attempts, but he didn't quite get it off. They got stood up, where MacMillan cut open TKO with a solid elbow in the clinch. TKO was able to get another takedown, however. MacMillan got them back up tot the feet, where he landed some solid shots until TKO went for another takedown. And that's where the round ended. The second round got started and TKO got another takedown. He still couldn't get much off there, so after a few minutes the ref stood them back up. At the ditance, the two of them weren't able to get much off. Until they found their way into the clinch. MacMillan was able to get some solid knees off. They set him up for a solid right hand that dropped TKO. The ref had no choice but to stop the fight. It was a hard fought fight, but MacMillan was able to gut his way to the semi-finals!

BFT - 255 Review

Lightweight - The 7 time BFT Fight of the Night Winner Max "Payne" Mega knocked out the former CFA Title Contender "King" Jomhod Kiatadisak with strikes at 3:36 of round 2.

Mega started this fight by diving down for a takedown. Kiatadisak got up, but Mega went for another takedown. They got up a gain, and went down again. And again. And again. That was pretty much the first round. In the second, he worked on another takedown and was able to get to work on on some harmful ground and pound. Mega was destroying with some ground and pound until the ref had to jump in and stop the fight.

What's next for Max? I would like to see him face either "Fishbowl" or Crack Hack.

Middleweight - The two time former CFA Middleweight Vez "V" Innaus and the long time former (and last) CFA Middleweight Champion "Devil" Lucjan Anielski fought to a Majority Draw.

Things looked good for Vez in the first round. He was able to keep on the end of Anielski punches already and land some solid shots of his own. It was a tough call, but Innaus looked great. Round two started and Anielski took things off the right bat. He landed a solid high kick that cut Vez wide open. The two of them threw everything out there, but it was such a hard round to judge. Innaus really came back after the round start to the round, but Aanielski never really disappeared throughout the round either. In the final round, we saw more of the distance action. Anielski tried to get going in the clinch twice, but it didn't take. Their time in the clinch was very brief. But Anielski was definately tryiung to push the fight as much as possible there. The judges couldn't decide on who won the second round, which left the fight to be a Majority draw, with one judge giving the fight to Anielski.

Lightweight - The former BFT Lightweight Champion "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi knocked out the former CFA Lightweight title Challenger "Buzzkill" Xavier Zoolander with a Slam at 52 seconds in the third round.

Atsushi dove down and went for the take down and brought down the pain fast. It took him less than a minute for him to get into full mount. He was active with the ground and pound, and even rocked Zoolander with some nice shots. He made it through the end of the round, but it looked like he was hurting. Round 2 started and Zoolander tried to clinch things up, but it wasn't the most successful move. It wasn't one time, not two times, but Atsushi took him down 3 times in that round before it came to a close. Zoolander was behind in the 3rd round and he went for the clinch again, but Atsushi was ready for what Zoolander had. Atsushi went for a double leg that slammed Zoolander hard. Hard enough for a few more shots to finish him off. Atsushi was on it!

What's next for the former BFT Champ? It makes sense for him to fight Sasiprapa again, but I want a little more time between that right now. Maybe a rematch with "Fishbowl"?

Co-Main - Welterweight - The former BFT Welterweight Champion Super Hans submit the former BFT Middleweight Champion Damian Nitschke with a kimura at 4:33 in round 1.

Damian went for the take down early, but Hans wasn't terribly troubled by that. The two fought for control on the ground, and Nitschke was enjoying landing some nice ground and pound. But Hans kept his cool and went for the kimura from half gaurd! Crackjitsu wins it out!

What's next for the crackjitsu master? A go around with Akihito Tatsuhiko for the belt makes sense to me. If he really wants it he could go for the Curtis Sharp rematch.

Main Event - Heavyweight - The BFT Hall of Famer and former BFT Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Jake the Snake Unanimous Decisioned the 8 time BFT Bonus winner "The Warmaster" Josh Barnett.

Things didn't look good for Barnett early when Snake cut him with a solid series of strikes. Barnett tried to pull it around when pulling guard, but it back fired when Jake was firing away at him. Barnett tried to get a submission off on him, but it wasn't enough. he second round got started and Barnett was much more confident. He dove in for the takedown, and he was all over Jake that round. Barnett sprinkled in a little ground and pound with some solid submission attempts to make sure that Jake was on his back most of the fight. When the third round got started, Jake was landing with some solid strikes. Josh took a takedown. Things looked up for Barnett, but Jake was able to wiggle around and get back up. From there, Jake was able to continue to bat around Barnett until the end of the round.

What's next for the Hall of Famer? I'm thinking a drop down to 205 for a match with Shananigan Lurendrejer would make the most sense. But honestly, with what he's done in BFT, he can do what ever the hell he wants.

Undercard:

BFT 252 Review

Lightweight - 3 time BFT bonus winner Suneet "Boro" Chandler submits the 50 fight vet, a former SPFT and RCS Lightweight title contender, and two times former BFT Lightweight title contender "Mini" Fenton Meeks with an armbar at 90 seconds into round 1.

After Meeks landed a solid shot from the distance, he mooved into the clinch where he was absolutely destructive. He was landing some real punishment against Suneet. It looked like he was crumpling up, but he ended up pulling gaurd instead. Once he got it down there he went right for a triangle, which couldn't fool a crafty vet like Meeks. But Chandler switched it to an armbar which had Meeks tapping quickly.

What's next for "Boro"? It's hard to place where he's really at right now. He's 4-1 in BFT. He isn't really a contender just yet, but he's not an easy out for anyone. Maybe a match-up with rising sensation Crack Hack. If a veteran is more of the direction, Jim Storm looks to be available. If the company really wants to push him, Samuel Vimes was last seen looking to knock someone out.

Lightweight - Officially a 50 fight veteran, BFT Bonus Bait, and a former BFT Lightweight Title Contender Suchart "Fishbowl" Chaowanungkarn submit the former SCC and PS Lightweight Champion, with a plethora of bonuses himself, Jim "Thunder" Storm due to strikes at 31 seconds in round 2.

Suchart was throwing hard at this distance with little success. He went into the clinch and landed a hard knee which had Storm diving down for a takedown. With little action, the ref took them back to their feet. And "Fishbowl" went back into the clinch. And Storm took it back to the mat. From there, he worked on submission after submission (reaching up to 10 submissions before the round was over) with no success. He worked hard on getting a finish, but the round wouldn't let him go for any more. Round 2 started with a huge head kick that knocked fown Storm. "Fishbowl" got let him back up to finish him off. He ended up landing a huge left hand that sent him to his knees. A few more strikes had Storm tapping. Rough night for Storm.

What's next for "Fishbowl"? Rumor has it he already has his next fight booked. I'll take a stab in the dark at who it might be though... Carlos Silva rematch?

Co-Main - Lightweight - The former BFC Lightweight Chamion and two time former BFT Lightweight Title Challenger Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao knocked out the former TRFC Lightweight Champion and BFT newcommer Yusuke Nakamura with strikes with four seconds remaining in the first round.

Pacquiao was more than willing to exchange with Nakamura. Within the first minute of the fight, he had thrown a combination that cut Nakamura open and another big right hand that knocked him down and wobbled him. Nakamura was able to recover, but the real question is how much could he have recovered in such a short period of time. Pacquiao continued to charge forward until another big right hand sent Nakamura to the mat. He let him back up, but it was obvious that Nakamura's response to Pacquiao was fading as Pacquiao's confindence rose. Another huge uppercut send him to the ground and that set him for another uppercut that sends him down again. Pacquiao jumped all over him and finished it off with an onslaught of strikes.

What's next for "Pacman"? He's already set to take on Fenton Meeks in two weeks at BFT - 256.

Main Event - Middleweight - Long time BFT vet and a 4-time former BFT Title challenger (twice for Light Heavyweight and twice for Middleweight) Antoine "A-Train" Wallace knockout the former OXC Light Heavyweight Champion and former Syndicate, HWFC, and Nexus Middleweight Champion Tevor "all for the fans" Smith with strikes at 3:56 in round 2.

The first round was all about the clinch. Wallace was trading his punches with Smith's knees. It was a rough exchange for both men, but Wallace looked like he was getting the better of the situation. The second round got started with a takedown from Wallace, and he took full advantage of the top position. He was throung shot after shot and had even made his way into the full mount position. He wouldn't let up from the strikes and Smith was feeling it. It wasn't too long before Smith was rocked and Wallace let it all out after that, finishing him off.

What's next for "A-Train"? With 5 row wins, 3 of which at 185, it's hard to deny he has earned a shot at the belt... Well not that hard since the champ is currently running in the open weight tourney going on. In the meantime, he could knock off another contender in Amir Khan or work his way into the cage with the TCA Hall of Famer Alessandro Pittana.

BFT 250 GP Round 1 PPV Review

With BFT's, now Sydney's oldest organization, 4th venture into PPV territory, the word is out. BFT has been demonstrating remarkable numbers. The payperview sales were the highest they have been to date, almost doubling from the last show to 42061 buyers. The attendence rating was the second highest in BFT history at 18030. It was also rated the 4th highest show in BFT history at 355.04, to go along with BFT's rating at the number one organization in Sydney and number 18 in the world. This card also started the BFT openweight tourny; 16 fighters entered, and 8 more moved onto the next round.

Open Weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 1 - The one time BFT Lightweight Title Challenger who has made his home at the 185 recently Keiji "Mach" Numa submit the former BFT Welterweight Champion "The Kracken" Jermaine Choake with an Armbar at 3:51 in round 1.

Things got started quickly with Choake and Numa exchanging blows fairly well. Choake seemed to have an the higher output thought. Numa brought it into the clinch, but neither guy had much success there. Choake dove down and got a nice takedown; he was landing some solid shots from the top position until Numa slipped in a solid armbar that had Choake tapping. Numa is on to the next round.

Open weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 2 - The former UPF-H Welterweight Champion Oktawian "The Ceasar" August KO'ed the now 51 fight veteran Richie Yang with a punch at 4:55 in round 1.

The two men started by trading nicely, but Yang wanted to mix things up and bring the fight into the clinch. The two men traded a shot in there before August was able to brake it back off. They went back to it at the distance, where August was really showing his stuff. He was really landing with his Head shots and leg kicks. It was a head kick that sent Yang tumbling to the mat, but he was able to get back up. Still in a daze, it was an overhand right that finished Yang off. He was able to land an extra shot that seemed a little excessive. I wonder if there was any bad blood between the two.

Open Weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 3 - The former Boomerang! Lightweight and Welterweight Champion and current BFT Middleweight Champion Chev Chelios KO'ed the former Synchronicity Middleweight Champion and Synchronicity Hall of Fame member "Superstar" Johnny Cage with Punches at 4:56 in round 1.

The Pay-per-View got started with some fireworks shooting from both guys. Neither guy was interested in taking the fight to the gound as they traded blows. Cage looked like he was in trouble early though, when a punch cut him open. Then a solid right hand knocked him down and had Cage rocked. Cage was able to hold on and trade some solid blows with Chelios, but another solid combination knocked down Cage. As Cage tries to get his way out, Chelios lands with a deadly accurate combination that knocked him out. Cage tried to fight back, but another combination sent him to dream land. Chelios makes it to round 2.

Open Weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 4 - The former CFA Super Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion and former CS and DUFF Heavyweight Chamion "Fat pig" Kim Jong KO'ed the former BFT Welterweight Champion Jake Shields with a head kick at 31 seconds in the first round.

Not too much to say about that one. You really needed to be there to see it. One head kick knocked Shields down and rocked him. One more head kick down the road knocked him out cold. I guess it's not the most surprising with the massive weight discrepancy. Jong toppled his way into round 2.

Open Weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 5 - The former BFT Middleweight Champion and current BFT Welterweight Champion Akihito "Rikiya" Tatsuhiko Jr. submit the former BFT and Bellum Heavyweight Title Challenger Gunnar Jensen with an armbat at 2:50 in round 1.

Right away, ATJ went for the takedown and was successful. He looked utterly dominant down there. He landed every one of his shots from the top. Jensen didn't have much of a chance to get back at him . He was able to open him up to get an armbar. Some nice work as Tatsuhiko gets into round 2.

Open Weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 6 - The former long time BFT Lightweight Champion "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi was in the wrong location at the time and his fight with the 3 time former BFT Light Heavyweight Title Challenger Titus "Tko" Kahoohalphala was canceled, now being called a No Contest.

The fight is currently being rescheduled for BFT - 251 on November 27th.

Open Weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 7 - The BFT Heavyweight Champion Hagen "The Barbarian" Germanicus KO'ed the former BFT and TCA Light Heavyweight Champion Shananigan Lurendrejer with strikes at 6:58 in round 2.

The two men were doing their best to match each other's pace on the feet. It was Germanicus who was able to land the more significant shots. He rushed in at one point to clinch it up with Lurendrejer. Germanicus was in complete control in the clinch, landing all of his shots. He even cut open Shananigan with a solid heat shot. Lurendrejer then took Germanicus down. He was doing a pretty nice job until until he dove in for a heel hook. Germanicus shook it off and dove in on top where he was looking good too. Lurendrejer pushed him off and hopped back up. Back on the feet, Germanicus was feeling pretty comfortable. Lurendrejer was able to land some solid counter shots, but it was Germanicus who did his stuff nicely. A huge uppercut knocked down and rocked Lurendrejer, but he wasn't quite out of it yet. Some nice shots from the top were countered by some nice submission attempts, but it turns out that Lurendrejer had enough heart in him to stick in there and make it to the second round. Back at the distance in round 2, Germanicus was hitting his shots nicely and I'm sure Lurendrejer was feeling them. Lurendrejer clinched things up this time and Germanicus took the fight to the mat. Germanicus was landing some monsterous ground and pound until the ref couldn't stand it any more and finally stopped the fight. Hagen moves to round 2.

Open Weight Tournament Round 1, Fight 8 - The current BFT Light Heavyweight Champion "Lone Star" Dallas MacMillan Unanimous Decisioned the former BFT WElterweight Champion Super Hans.

Hans was looking like a man on a mission in the first round. The two were fairly even going for shots at each other. In the first though, he was able to get 3 takedowns. Although MacMillan was able to get up every time, he was held down for about half the round. The second round was all about MacMillan. He clinched things up quickly. In the clinch, Hans had no success with his takedowns. He was able to land a few solid shots, too. But it paled in comparison to the shots MacMillan was landing. He was all over Hans in the clinch and it was really hurting him. Both guys left that round bone tired, but it was MacMillan who was able to raise his hands up high and walk his way into round 2.

Other Fights in the Card:

Welterweight - Former BFT Welterweight Title Chalenger Pat Small Unanimous Decisioned the former BFT Middleweight Champion Damian Nitschke.

BFT - 245: Hard Knock Life 6 Review

Light Heavyweight - In his BFT debut, Cambodia's Ben "Octagon Monsoon" Stien knockes out the former BFC Middleweight Champion, Russia's Trinidad Suarez with strikes at 3:48 in round 3.

Things looked roung for Ben right away when an uppercut cuts him. Suarez stayed on him, but Stien was able to take him down. Neither guy got much off, so the ref stood them back up. At the distance, Stien was able to get some nice strikes off before he dove back in to a takedown. Stien was able to be a little more successful and rode it out until the round ended. As round two started, they found themselves going up against the cage. At the distance, Stien was doing well and landing some great shots. He mixed things up and dove down for another takedown. Stien was able to take control and finish the second on top. The third had a bunch of time at the distance and Stien looked completely in control. He had his punches landing fast and hard. He countered a great combination from Suarez for a solid takedown, quickly took mount, and Landed some big strikes before the ref ended the fight.

What's next for Stien? Although I can hear the cried for a title shot already, I'm a little hesitant to give one out to him just yet. A fight with Bulgelene Gossables would be a good test of his jiu jitsu/ chin. If he were to get fast tracked to a title shot, I would set him up against Sydney's own Titus "Tko". The man is a solid BFT fighter, right up there with all the biggest names BFT has to offer. If Ben can beat Titus as convincingly as he did Suarez, then I may be a little more in favor of a title shot.

Heavyweight - The one time BFT Heavyweight Title Challenger and 7x BFT Bonus winner "Overeem" Jason Hannibal knocks out The former Boomerang! Heavyweight Champion and an Australian sensation "The Chosen One" Ovid Julios with strikes at 80 seconds of the first round.

Hannibal looked good at the distance early when he was able to cut open Ovid. Julios was then able to clinch things up and throw some nice strikes. He landed a nice knee that opened up a cut on Jason. Hannibal returned fire with some great strikes of his own. A solid uppercut cut open Ovid more. Julios looked like he was tired. He was getting tagged by a lot of shots, but it was another big uppercut that sent him down and out.

What's next for Jason? Hopefully he will resign with BFT, because I believe this win helped him hop back on the track to the title. Mookie Baylock has had some nice victories as of recent. He is riding a 7 fight winning streak, including his 4 BFT victories. Beating someone like that could help his cause. And a solid win like that for Mookie would definately raise his stock. If that doesn't interest him, there are a couple of BJJ black belts that could certainly give him some tricks. Josh Barnatt would test his ground game greatly. The man has 11 of 12 victories by submission. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira Could also provide some tricky submission skills. 10 of 13 victories came by submission for him.

Welterweight - The former BFT Welterweight Champion and 14x BFT Bonus Winner Super Hans knocks out another former BFT Welterweight Champion and 9x BFT Bonus Winner Guilherme "Buscape" Alves with strikes at 2:49 in round 1.

Hans landed some nice strikes before Alves was able to take him down. Alves was landing some nice ground and pound while Hans went for some great submissions. Hans was able to utilize his crackjitsu to get on top of Alves and land some punishing ground and pound from full mount. Alves was rocked from some shots, and even though Hans wasn't able to get the americana he went for, he was able to get the knockout finish.

What's next for the crackjitsu artist? A title shot could easily be in order for Super Hans. Assuming that round doesn't get taken, Pat Small has a similar skill set that could provide a useful test. Oktawian August has some nice game that could really take it to Hans. The Italian could provide either a stepping stone or a difficult exam.

Co-Main - Welterweight Title! - The former BFC Welterweight Champion and former BFT Middleweight Champion Akihito "Rikiya" Tatsuhiko Jr. Unanimous Decisiolned the reigning BFT Welterweight Champion Curtis "Razor" Sharp to become the new and 9th Welterweight Champion.

The newly crowned champ was looking to defend his belt for the first time, and it showed as he made his way to the arena, but Akihito had alreay won the crowd over walking in to Eye of the Tiger. Right away, Tatsuhiko got the take down and was looking to get some ground and pound off on Sharp. He wasn't the most successful, and the ref was not satisfied with the work output of Sharp, so he stood them up. The two of them traded a little at the distance, with Sharp fending off some takedowns, but was unsuccessful and Tatsuhiko was able to get another one off. Tatsuhiko was able to stay solidly on top until the round came to a close. Round 2 went underway and sharp was looking to change his luck. A nice jab, hook combo cut open Akihito. Sharp was looking a little more on it, but Tatushiko went for the takedown again. He tried to get a few submissions going, but nothing worked. Sharp was able to wall walk his way to the feet again. But Tatsuhiko took to the offensive and dragged him back down to the ground. He tried for a few more submissions before the round came to a close. Round 3 got started and Tatsuhiko went for the takedown quickly again. Tatsuhiko was able to stay on top of the champion and got some nice ground and pound off. He considered dropping back for a leg, but it wasn't the best idea so he stuck to what was working. Round 4 got started and Sharp looked like he was tired of fighting from his back. He went and landed some nice shots at the distance before Tatsuhiko was able to get the takedown. Tatsuhiko was controlling the fight pretty well and landed some nice shots. Sharp was rocked there for a little while, so Tatsuhiko went for a few submissions, but nothing came to. Sharp was able to hold on until the end of the round and a sigh of relief came from his corner that he still had a chance to win the fight, followed by a high octane speech about how he could still win this. Sharp really took his corner's advice to heart and did everything he could to knock out Tatsuhiko Jr. at the distance. It looked like he had a solid chance there for a while, defending a few takedowns before one got through. From there, Tatsuhiko was fighting for a decision. He was able to hold on to sharp on the ground and not let him get anything off. Tatsuhiko was able to take the fight and he belt from the champ.

What's next from the newly crowned champ? I honestly believe that Super Hans is the right guy for the title shot. He was a dominant champion and certainly looked on top of it against Alves tonight, the same Alves that beat Akihito 3 times. Depending on how lucky he feels, I could see Jermaine Choake getting the next title shot if Hans is passed up on. Choake is another name strongly associated with the BFT Welterweight Title. He also has a pair of solid victories against the current champ that I could see the champ wanting to help remove from people's memory.

Main Event - Heavyweight Title! - The Reigning Heavyweight Champion and 18x BFT Bonus Winner Hagen "The Barbarian" Germanicus KO's a former Bellum and BFT Heavyweight title Challenger Gunnar Jensen to retain his belt for the 11th time.

These two men had some business to finish and the crowd in attendence was excited to see the result of this one. Germanicus was looking good at the distance early. Unfortunately, not that good; Hagen had some scar tissue opened early from a strong straight right. Germanicus returned fire and moved the fight into the clinch. In the clinch, Jensen was throwing actively, but it was Germanicus that had accuracy with his shots. Jensen broke them up, but he didn't fair much better at the distance. Germanicus was able to distract him with the right hand to set up for the big left hand. Germanicus dove down and tried to finish him off, but he didn't have enough to do it before the round ended. Round 2 got started, but Jensen still wasn't all together. Germanicus was taking full advantage of that and langind some great shots. Germanicus landed a huge uppercut that sent Jensen flying into the air like Street Fighter. Jensen had a cut opened up, but he wasn't quite out yet. Germanicus dives down and unloads a massive left and right. His eyes rolled back and the ref jumped in.

What's next for the reigning champ? With everyone calling the Heavyweight Champion as of recent, Hagen sure has a lot of options. If he wants to stick with Heavyweight Challengers, I would love to see him rematch Kim Jong. He's strung together some solid wins and may be able to bring it to Germanicus this time around. But another fight that really catches my interest is a blockbuster: Dallas MacMillian. MacMillian has been a dominant champion at 205 in BFT for some while and has even gone out of his way to beat the Middleweight Champion in Chev Chelios. If Dallas is able to beat the Heavyweight Champion, it would be hard to deny him as the best BFT champion throughout history. If Hagen would beat some strong and dominant champ in Dallas MacMillian, he would be taking all the glory that MacMillian has been working towards. Hell, I think a fight between those two alone would sell out a stadium and have some nice PPV buys, let alone the rest of the card that could be built around that. Otherwise, I don't know... You COULD give Super Hans his wish to fight Germanicus.

Undercard:

Welterweight - In a battle of English fighters, a former BFT Welterweight Title Challenger Pat Small knocked out QFC name stead Blake "The Great" Axe with strikes at 82 seconds in round 1.

Lightweight - The former BHFC Lightweight Champion, Phillipines' Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao knocked out 24 BFT fight vet, Brazil's Carlos Silva with strikes at 1:30 in round 3.

Heavyweight - 5x BFT Bonus winner, Vegas's Frank Mir submit 9 fight vet, Russia's Vyacheslav Dmitrigorbachovovonovich with a kneebar at 41 seconds in the very first round.

Light Heavyweight - South Africa's undefeated Chris Robinson Unanimous Decisioned Pakistan's Imran Khan.

BFT - 243 Review

Heavyweight - The former BFT Heavyweight Champion Laguna "Buzzsaw" Lunaris Unanimous Decisioned finisher in all his victories "The Freak" Brock Lesnar

The first round started and Lunaris went for the takedown. He didn't doo to much, but he got Lesnar on his back. On the feet, they clinched up. That is where Lunaris works best. He worked on Lesnar with some elbows, cutting him open. Round 2 got started and Lesnar cut open Lunaris with a stiff right hand. Lunaris clinched things up, but Lesnar took the fight to the mat. The ref stood them up, but lesnar took the fight back to the mat. He went for an armbar, but it was no dice. Lunaris clinched things up and the round closed up. The third round got started and Lunaris was able to hop in the clinch once more. Lunaris was able to to cut Lesnar some more and Lesnar dove down for the takedown. He couldn't get anything off, and it was Lunaris that was able to walk away with the decision.

Welterweight - The former BFT Middleweight Champion and former BFC Welterweight Champ Akihito "Rikiya" Tatsuhiko Jr. Submit former BFT Middleweight Champion Damian Nitschke with an arm triangle at 1:37 in round 3.

This one was a blood bath. Tatsuhiko brought on an offensive rush ending with a head kick that cut open Nitschke. Nitschke turned things around and soon after cut open Tatsuhiko with a solid uppercut. The two of them continued to bring the action until Nitschke managed to counter a wild right hand with a great takedown. There wasn't much action on the ground, so the ref stood them up. As the round came to a close, Nitschke really brought on some good offense till the round ended. The round started with the two going at it at the distance some more. They exchanged some jabs and Nitschke got cut open. Tatsuhiko went for the take down soon, but the Tatsuhiko wasn't liking the ground and he cagewalked up to the clinch. Tatsuhiko then changed him mind and pulled gaurd. Nitschke was doing well and working at him with a ground and pound and controlled the fight well until the round ended. Nitschke dove down for another takedown. But Tatsuhiko bucked up and reversed to top position. Tatsuhiko was landing enough ground and pound to rock Nitschke. He used the punches to get ahold of Nitschke's neck. He got the arm triangle and Nitschke passed out. He was so excited that he was able to get the submision that he asked for a title shot.

Light Heavyweight - 4 time BFT Light Heavyweight Title Challenger Titus "Tko" Kahoohalphala knocked out the former BHFC Light Heavyweight Champion David Nuclear with strikes at 3:18 in round 2.

Kahoohalphala was throwing wildly to set up for the takedown. TKO got to work with some ground and pound before the ref got bored with David Nuclear's ground work. At the distance, neither man was able to really string together too much, but TKO was able to get another takedown before the round ended. Round 2 came in and Kahoohalphala was hot. He was going in strong for the takedown, and he was striking well. He kept on this constantly until a solid strike rocked Nuclear and a few more shots came down until the ref stopped things.

Co-Main - Heavyweight - The former CFA and CS Heavyweight Champion and former CFA and DUFF Super Heavyweight Champion "Fat pig" Kim Jong knocked out the former CFA Light Heavyweight Title Challenger "Oziel" Nicandro Aloisio with strikes at 3:33 in round 1.

Aloisio looked great as the round started. He was able to land a huge head kick that knocked Jong down and rocked him hard. It looked like it was going to be a quick night for them, but Jung didn't look for it to end just yet. He stuck with it and kept on it strong, but Aloisio was all on top of him. Another big head kick sent Jong down to the mat. Aloisio was taunting Jong to try to get him down, but Jong countered with a big head kick of his own. He was able to use that to knock him out before he hit the mat. That was a rough night for Aloisio with the success he had early.

Main Event - Lightweight Title! - Malaipet "The Diamond" Sasiprapa brought the BFT Lightweight Champion "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi to a unanimous decision to become the new lightweight champion and the 7th in BFT history.

Sasiprapa took the fight to the mats early and didn't look back. he worked on controlling Atsushi, but Atsushi wasn't alright with that. He was actively looking for submissions off of his back, but nothing was working. The ref stood them up with seconds on the clock, but neither one was able to do much there. The second round started and the two traded strikes early and things were crazy. There were a lot of low kicks and a few head shots. There was even a flying knee coming from Atsushi. Sasiprapa was able to dragg the fight to the mat and kept Atsushi down for a few minutes until he wanted to get up. The third and fourth rounds looekd very similar. Sasiprapa was able to get the takedown early and held him down on the ground until the round ended. There were a few advances and some shots fired. The fifth round started with another Sasiprapa takedown. Atsushi was working hard on submissions, but nothing came to. The ref stood them back up and Sasiprapa dove right back in. Atsushi went for one more submission attempt, but nothing came of it and the round ended.
