Dixon will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dixon swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dixon swings for the body but Nadeau moves out of range.
Dixon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dixon throws out a loose jab but Nadeau uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Dixon counters with a series of strikes. Nadeau will be more careful next time no doubt.
Dixon throws a series of punches but Nadeau avoids them all with ease.
A decent looking cross lands there for Nadeau.

Nadeau is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dixon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Dixon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nadeau moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Nadeau tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Dixon swivels and escapes.

and Dixon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Nadeau thinking.
Dixon goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Dixon misses with a low kick as Nadeau jumps back.

Nadeau closes the distance and clinches up with Dixon, looking for a takedown. Nadeau pushes Dixon against the cage but Dixon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jimmy Dixon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Nadeau.

Dixon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Nadeau counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nadeau tries to close the distance and clinch but Dixon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Nadeau shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Nadeau is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dixon wants to improve his position but Nadeau is controlling well.
Dixon wants to control but Nadeau is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Nadeau looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dixon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Nadeau throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dixon is trying to get back to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nadeau is thwarting Dixon's attempts to control the position.

Nadeau is looking for a kimura but Dixon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nadeau to get the leverage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dixon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nadeau is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nadeau not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jimmy Dixon will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nadeau is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dixon is just riding it out for now. Nadeau eventually gives up the hold.

Dixon is pressing down on Nadeau's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Nadeau cracks Dixon with a solid left hand.
Dixon can't keep his opponent in guard - Nadeau advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Nadeau is thwarting Dixon's attempts to control the position.

Nadeau is trying for a kimura here. Dixon looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Nadeau wins by kimura!
