The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brown has a takedown stuffed. Tavares tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brown swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tavares fails in his attempt to clinch. Marvin Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Tavares turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Brown shoots in but Tavares avoids the takedown attempt easily. Tavares throws a head kick that half lands.
Brown throws a leg kick and Tavares counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Brown thinking. Brown lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tavares for as long as he can get away with. Brown remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Tavares takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Marvin Brown is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Brown winds up and cracks Tavares with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Max Tavares has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Brown stands up from half guard. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marvin Brown. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brown, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Reis throws a combination. Crudele tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Antonio Crudele seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crudele throws a sloppy body shot
and Reis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Reis bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Crudele's head backwards.
That has opened up Antonio Crudele's cut even more. Reis connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Reis throws a looping overhand right but Crudele ducks down to avoid it. Crudele throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Crudele moves out of range as Reis strikes. Reis lands with a cross. Reis scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A low kick from Crudele misses and Reis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Crudele is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Crudele drops his hands momentarily. Reis doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Crudele staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Crudele doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Gabor is looking to take a break and control but Alcano is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gabor wants to advance to full mount but Alcano doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gabor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Alcano keeping moving, preventing Gabor from controlling successfully. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz throws a series of punches but Herzog avoids them all with ease. Herzog slips a jab from Diaz. Diaz throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Herzog. Good shot there by Diaz. Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
