0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zack Mathiew! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Waldron! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Mathiew looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mathiew fails with a takedown attempt. Waldron throws a wild body kick that Mathiew sees coming a mile off. Mathiew fails with a takedown attempt. A combination from Waldron does no damage. Waldron keeps the fight on the outside. Waldron rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mathiew moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mathiew takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Waldron will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mathiew checks a low kick from Waldron. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Waldron throws a big shot that misses. Waldron throws a nice inside leg kick. Mathiew looks for a takedown but Waldron sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zack Mathiew. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mathiew is breathing heavily. Waldron keeps the fight on the outside. Waldron bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Mathiew shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Mathiew is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Waldron can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mathiew seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Waldron is holding on tight.

Waldron is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Mathiew has just dragged him back down to the mat. Mathiew looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Waldron is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mathiew wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Waldron, who protects the arm well. Waldron prevents Mathiew from improving position. Waldron defending against the ground and pound. Mathiew postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mathiew prevents Waldron from escaping the position. Waldron decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mathiew to his feet. Nick Waldron is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. An inside leg kick lands from Waldron. Mathiew throws a leg kick but Waldron sees it coming and moves out of range. Mathiew tries to clinch up but Waldron circles away and keeps his distance. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Waldron!
Mathiew closes this distance looking for a takedown but Waldron circles away. Mathiew will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A combination from Waldron does no damage. Waldron throws a wild body kick that Mathiew sees coming a mile off. Mathiew throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mathiew closes the distance but Waldron moves to the side and Waldron counters with a good low kick that Mathiew was not able to check. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nick Waldron dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mathiew keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Waldron. Mathiew checks the leg kick. Waldron throws a series of punches but Mathiew moves out of range. Waldron takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Waldron thows a body shot but no joy. Mathiew fails with a takedown attempt. Mathiew misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A clash of legs there as Mathiew blocks the low kick. Waldron fails to land with a series of punches.

Zack Mathiew is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mathiew showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Waldron.
Waldron clinches up with Mathiew and pushes him back against the cage. Mathiew wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Waldron has him pressed against the cage. Waldron breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Waldron shoots in for a takedown but Mathiew shows good takedown defense. Nice takedown defense from Waldron. No joy for Mathiew on that attempt. Waldron throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Waldron looks to land a left hand but Mathiew moved out of range nicely. Nice body kick there by Waldron. Waldron throws a leg kick which misses Mathiew's front leg but catches the back leg as Mathiew tries to avoid it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Waldron drops Mathiew with a left right combo! Waldron follows him down to the ground into side control.
Mathiew is rocked!
It looks like Zack Mathiew has been cut. Waldron tries to stand but Mathiew is controlling his head. Oh Mathiew is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Waldron really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mathiew. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mathiew seems to have got his legs back now. Waldron decides to stand back up. Waldron steps back and let's Mathiew get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mathiew looks to clinch and Waldron counters with a three punch combo that has Mathiew backing up. Mathiew nods at Waldron to acknowledge the strikes. Mathiew looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Mathiew gets the takedown into side control. Waldron wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Mathiew has an Americana. Waldron didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mathiew is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mathiew hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hurter throws a right and a left that Lara avoids nicely. Hurter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Lara will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A punch combination from Lara misses. Hurter tries to clinch but Lara moves out of range. Hurter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Hurter looks to land a combination but Lara avoids it well. Lara moves in looking to clinch but Hurter pushes him off. Hurter looks to land a combination. Lara sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Hurter checks a leg kick nicely. Hurter misses with a body kick. Hurter wants to get back to his feet but Lara is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Lara seems to have recovered his senses. Lara stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hurter swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hurter wants to stand up but Lara is controlling him. Lara is looking to stand up but Hurter won't let him.

and Cares counters with a thumping low kick. It's a brutal combination of punches from Cares! Finn is backing up but he can't get away as Cares lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Finn and ends the fight. Great knockout.

Law keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gruver tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Law swivels and escapes. Law shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Law slows the pace down in half guard. Gruver wants to control but Law passes into side.
Gruver looking for a sweep but Law has passed into full mount! Oh no! Gruver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Law pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Law scoring with strikes but Gruver is staying in there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Law scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Gruver?
Gruver swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Law unloading with bombs! Gruver wants to hold on but Law pushes him away. Gruver really wants to buck Law off and get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Law raining down shots from the mount! Gruver wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Baker feints and as Stark raises his hands in defense, Baker changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Stark thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Stark advances position into side control! That was a close round but I would say that Robb Stark will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mann throws a hook to the side of Liddell's head but Liddell sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mann has a takedown stuffed. Some wild striking there from Mann.
A right-left combo lands from Mann. Liddell looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mann tries to bum rush Liddell with a series of wild strikes but Liddell uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Mann on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Liddell. Liddell obviously looking to wear him down.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Horrible takedown by Liddell or perhaps it was just good defense by Mann which made him look bad. Liddell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Block Liddell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Liddell stands up from half guard. Mann shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Liddell counters with a thumping low kick. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Mann gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Mann apologises and we restart here on the feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Liddell fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Liddell.
