3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Bird! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dino Adams! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Adams misses. Bird drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Adams wants to sweep here but Bird controlling him for the moment. Adams keeping moving, preventing Bird from controlling successfully. Bird wants to get up but he can't break Adams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Adams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bird is one step ahead there. Bird trying to control but Adams is working from the bottom. Adams manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Adams is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bird can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Adams pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Adams is nestled in close to Bird, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Adams throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Adams sitting and controlling from the half guard. Bird is trying to stand.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bird's guard. Bird wants to control but Adams is keeping busy.
Bird gets full guard. Adams in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bird is trying to control the position but Adams postures up. Adams gets to his feet - Bird follows without any prompting. Bird shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bird showed some decent athleticism there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bird with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Bird misses with a head shot. Adams uses the momentum to regain guard. Adams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bird is one step ahead there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Adams can do anything to dispel that myth. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bird trying to control but Adams is working from the bottom. Bird gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Adams shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bird counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's got it. We're now in half guard. Alastair on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Alastair tries to get out of the position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shamrock postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Alastair to stand up. Alastair fails to land with a series of punches.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alastair working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Alastair winds up and cracks Shamrock with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Alastair stands up out of the half guard. Alastair dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Shamrock has had enough and taps out.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Grappler has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.
Silva is fighting off a takedown attempt but Grappler is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Silva to the mat. Silva regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Grappler postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Grappler working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silva's head. Grappler stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control. Silva is trying to control Grappler's posture but Grappler avoids it. Silva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Grappler lands some shots froms side control. Grappler throws a strike aimed at the side of Silva's head but Silva avoids it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grappler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working. Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Grappler wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Silva managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Grappler.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Silva can't do much from the bottom here. Grappler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground.
