The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Petrov, right into the meat.
Raven looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Petrov throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Jon Raven has been cut. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Jab, jab by Petrov - just one landing. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Petrov stalks Raven and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Raven's face. Raven staggers backwards, shaken. Petrov lands a jab-cross combination.
Jon Raven's cut is getting worse. Petrov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Petrov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A head kick from Petrov lands but Raven takes it in his stride. Petrov cracks Raven with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Raven tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Petrov pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Raven is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vilela blocks the body kick.
Vilela feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Benson's calf. Benson moves out of range of the leg kick from Vilela. Vilela fakes the leg kick and cracks Benson in the body. Vilela thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Benson if he has to take too many more of those.
Benson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Vilela throws a head kick that misses. Vilela is looking to slow Benson down with leg kicks. Benson looks gassed! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Vilela tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Benson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Vilela wants to land a leg kick but Benson is out of range. Benson works Vilela's body with a nice hook. Benson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Nice body kick there by Vilela. Vilela feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Benson's calf. Vilela scoring well with a low kick there.

Benson throws a series of punches but Vilela avoids them all with ease. Vilela uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Benson.
Vilela throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Benson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Vilela throws a half hearted mid kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Benson moves out of range as Vilela strikes. Vilela throws a head kick that half lands.
Vilela throws a lazy right hand but Benson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Benson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Benson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Vilela quickly recovers to half guard. Benson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Vilela is trying to stand.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jose Vilela wasn't doing enough on the ground. Vilela lands with a nice body kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Vilela. That's going to slow Benson down. Benson's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Vilela moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Vilela feints and then cracks Benson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Benson down. Benson takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Vilela avoids a punch combination nicely.

Benson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Vilela is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Benson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Benson's back! Jimmy Benson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Vilela controls the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Jose Vilela showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vilela, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
