The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steene has a takedown stuffed.
Steene fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hallman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Hallman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Steene just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hallman is working for takedown but Steene is calmly controlling the position for now.
Steene works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Steene drags the fight down to the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hallman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hallman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Havey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Taker!
Taker is looking to get to half guard.
Havey controlling from mount.
Taker is trying to reverse the position but instead Havey has taken his back - oops!
Havey is hanging on to Taker's back as he tries to escape.
Havey really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Taker.
Taker can't escape the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Havey is not going to allow Taker to sit and survive in this position.

Havey has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Taker has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
What can Taker do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Taker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brad Havey dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Havey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Taker looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Havey has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Taker is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Havey yanks on the arm and Taker is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Havey.
