0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeganathan Mondero! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! An inside leg kick lands from Mondero. Mondero tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gavilan Barrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barrera fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Mondero throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barrera. Mondero scores with a three punch combo!
Barrera keeps the fight on the outside. Mondero is looking to score with low kicks. Mondero is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Barrera thows a leg kick but Mondero checks it and Mondero counters with a one-two to the body. Barrera shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mondero but Mondero pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mondero darts in and clinches Barrera up against the cage. Barrera has Mondero pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mondero manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Mondero stalls. Mondero wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Barrera changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mondero looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Barrera has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Mondero throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Gavilan Barrera has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Mondero has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mondero looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Mondero - that will leave a mark!
Barrera looks to land a combination but Mondero avoids it well. Mondero decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Mondero throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Barrera is refusing to be controlled, as Mondero sits in half guard. Mondero stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mondero!
Barrera is looking to chop away at Mondero's legs. Mondero rushes Barrera and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Barrera could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mondero pulls guard successfully.
Barrera throws a strike but Mondero rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mondero stands and steps away. Barrera gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barrera throws a combination that misses and Mondero cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Barrera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Barrera looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Barrera throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Barrera moves in looking to clinch but Mondero pushes him off. Barrera cracks Mondero with a big right hand and Mondero goes down!
Mondero is rocked! Barrera stands and throws Mondero's legs to the side, diving into side control. Mondero is still on wobbly legs! Can Barrera finish him? Barrera tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barrera has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Barrera working the head and body with strikes. Mondero is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Barrera has just dragged him back down to the mat. Mondero seems to have recovered his senses. Mondero on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Barrera decides to stand back up. Barrera steps back and let's Mondero get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Barrera lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Mondero lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Barrera sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Barrera showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mondero.
Mondero doesn't manage to clinch there - Barrera circles away.
Barrera lands with a big right hook that stumbles Mondero - he's out on his feet here! Barrera follows up with another monster hook that separates Mondero from consciousness! Mondero falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Barrera stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tofano Cruz! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz throws a leg kick which misses Carson's front leg but catches the back leg as Carson tries to avoid it. Cruz tries to clinch up but Carson circles away and keeps his distance. Cruz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Nice defenses there by Carson. Carson misses with a series of wild punches.
Cruz wants to clinch up but Carson keeps it at a distance. Cruz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Carson as he jumps to the side. Carson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carson connects with a nice short shot to Cruz's temple. Cruz wants to control but Carson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cruz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Carson prevents Cruz from improving his position. Carson scoring with strikes to the body and head. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Cruz wants to improve his position but Carson is controlling well.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Carson is controlling the pace.
Carson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Cruz tries to roll over but Carson keeps him under control. Carson content to control rather than advance. Cruz wants to control but Carson is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Carson passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cruz! Carson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Cruz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carson counters by moving into the clinch. Carson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carson lands in his opponent's guard. Carson stands up over Cruz, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Carson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Carson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cruz is keeping the position for now. Carson preventing the sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Cruz looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Cruz working a defensive guard but Carson passes into half guard.

Carson slows the pace down in half guard. Cruz wants to sweep but Carson has passed to side control! Carson decides to stand back up. Carson steps back and let's Cruz get back to his feet. Cruz misses with a takedown attempt and Carson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Alex Carson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tofano Cruz. Cruz trying to control from the bottom.
Carson stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carson working over Cruz with some ground and pound. Cruz looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz is refusing to be controlled, as Carson sits in half guard. Carson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Cruz is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Carson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Carson's back! Cruz has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Carson. Cruz is looking to control Carson but Carson is wriggling around and keeping busy. Cruz scores with punches from the back.
Carson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Carson wants to control but Cruz is having none of it. Cruz working away from the top, dropping strikes. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Cruz tries to control but Carson wriggling away. Cruz prevents Carson from getting the reversal. Carson regains half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Carson dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Carson is trying to control the position but Cruz postures up. Cruz passes Carson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Carson landing strikes from the bottom. Cruz works his foot free and advances to mount. Cruz wants to control the pace but Carson is squirming around nicely. Carson gets back to half guard. Cruz wants to take a breather but Carson is having none of it. Cruz is just content to waste time from the top position. Carson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Carson trying to strike off his back.

Cruz looking for a sweep. Not yet Cruz, not yet. Carson wants to control from the top but Cruz keeps moving. Tofano Cruz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cruz wants to sweep here but Carson controlling him for the moment. Cruz throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Maia looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Maia throws a leg kick that is checked and Lopez counters with a thumping low kick. Lopez lands a glancing blow to the side of Maia's head. Lopez scores with a three punch combo!

Maia is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lopez. Lopez fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Maia shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Lopez uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Lopez lands a nice looking body shot.

Lopez lands a nice hook to Maia's body. Maia takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Maia fails with the takedown and Lopez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Maia swings widly with a right hand
and Lopez counters with a two punch combo. Lopez is looking to wear down Maia with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Maia throws a lazy body kick and Lopez counters with a right hand to the body. Lopez circles away from the clinch attempt and Maia takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lopez digs a good hook to Maia's body.
Maia takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Maia takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Nice uppercut there from Lopez. Lopez scores with a three punch combo!

Lopez is working the combinations to good effect here. No joy there for Lopez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Maia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lopez manages to avoid it. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lopez.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Amade. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson content just to control the position here. Amade is trying desperately to improve position. Johnson trying to control but Amade is having none of it. Amade slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Amade kicks Johnson off and gets back to his feet. Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Amade stops Johnson from passing to mount. Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. Amade is not content to let Johnson control the position. Johnson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Amade manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Amade is breathing heavily. Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Amade is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Amade wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Amade is looking to clinch. Johnson fakes the leg kick and cracks Amade in the body. Amade has his takedown stuffed so Johnson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Johnson stands up and waves to Amade to follow him. Amade wants to clinch but Johnson slips to the side and Johnson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Johnson is taking a breather. Amade says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson seems to be working for a kimura but Amade defends the submission attempt. Amade looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Amade has managed to free his arm - good work. Amade has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Johnson. Oh but Amade has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Johnson goes limp - he's gone! Amade jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gregorivich scores a takedown into full mount! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Suvave is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Suvave is in all sorts of trouble here.
Gregorivich is landing with some decent strikes but Suvave is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
It looks like Rico Suvave has been cut. Gregorivich postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Suvave looks a forlorn figure.
Suvave is rocked! Gregorivich is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Suvave can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Suvave is still on wobbly legs! Can Gregorivich finish him? Gregorivich jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Suvave manages to avoid the submission attempt. Suvave is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gregorivich asserts his dominance and retains side control. Gregorivich swings around for an armbar but Suvave sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gregorivich's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Suvave would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Suvave seems to have recovered his senses. Suvave wants to control from the top but Gregorivich keeps moving. Suvave has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gregorivich to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Suvave is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gregorivich pulls down on the head and he's put Suvave to sleep! This one is all over!
