James feints and as Shango raises his hands in defense, James changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shango is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.

Shango has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.

High stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Derman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Derman seems to have recovered his senses.
High is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
High knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Derman on the ground.
High missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
High is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
High wants to stand but Derman is controlling his posture from full guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Travis High wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
High thuds a left hand into Derman's body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis High dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mark Derman's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


High throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Derman stumbling backwards into the cage! Derman bounces back off the cage towards High, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! High lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! High celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
