The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ONeill shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dirty but Dirty pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dirty throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nice defenses there by ONeill. ONeill tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dirty sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten ONeill somewhat. Dirty lands a left and a right that send ONeill crashing to the mat, dazed. Dirty thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Kyle ONeill has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A big left from Dirty misses. Dirty has taken the fight to the clinch.

ONeill closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dirty takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dirty knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for ONeill on the ground. Dirty is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, ONeill asserts his dominance and retains side control. Dirty takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. ONeill is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Dirty can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Melchior Ghazni overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Morrow tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ghazni wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Clay Morrow has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ghazni working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Morrow being controlled for a moment.
