Kirk closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
BJ Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kirk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Penn's waist but Penn gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kirk off to one side.
