Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Oskar Schindler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Elley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schindler comes to the cage accompanied by Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oskar Schindler! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stephen Elley! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Hugh Johnson.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A punch combination from Elley misses. Elley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Schindler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Schindler is looking to slow Elley down with leg kicks. Elley misses with a few strikes there.
Elley fails with an attempt to clinch.
Schindler throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Elley's waist but Elley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schindler off to one side. Stephen Elley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schindler throws a head kick but Elley moves out of range.

Elley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Elley waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Schindler.

and Schindler counters with a single leg into guard. Elley didn't expect that. Schindler forces his way into half guard. Elley looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Schindler controlling the pace.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Elley is staying active underneath Schindler, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Schindler performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
 Oskar Schindler has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Horrible takedown by Schindler or perhaps it was just good defense by Elley which made him look bad. Elley tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Schindler counters with a single leg into guard. Elley didn't expect that. Elley tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Elley is working an open guard so Schindler takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Schindler tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Elley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Schindler lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Elley backs up against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Come on Elley - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

and Elley counters by moving into the clinch. Elley lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Elley with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Elley has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Elley is trying to maintain a safe position but Schindler gets an underhook and turns Elley into the cage. Schindler has Elley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Elley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Schindler comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schindler throws a series of punches but Elley moves out of range.

Elley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.

Elley looks to clinch and Schindler cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Elley lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Elley bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Elley throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Schindler gets a clinch. Schindler wants to get back to striking at distance but Elley won't allow it.
Schindler looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Schindler wants to break free but Elley has control.
Schindler tries to pull guard but Elley won't allow it.
Elley gets through Schindler's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Schindler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Elley is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Elley is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Schindler tries to circle away but Elley has him pinned against the cage. Elley lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Schindler backwards. Elley is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Schindler's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Elley is breathing heavily. Schindler lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Elley circles away quickly and effectively.

Elley moves into the clinch. Schindler jumps guard but Elley stands there with Schindler around his waist. Schindler gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Elley blocking the ground and pound attempt from Schindler. Schindler trying to control the pace. Oskar Schindler overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schindler trying to control the position from guard on top but Elley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Schindler is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Schindler throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Elley works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Schindler in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Stephen Elley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Oskar Schindler is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Schindler stands and steps away. Elley gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
And that's the end of the fight! Oskar Schindler showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Schindler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

James shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Thornsby manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Thornsby tries to land a sweep but no joy. James slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Thornsby wants to stand and escape but James is having none of it.
James drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thornsby dives on top into guard.

Thornsby lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

James takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Thornsby lands a two punch combo.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. James with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Thornsby to score with a decent uppercut. Decent striking displayed by Thornsby there. Thornsby lands with an overhand left. James takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Thornsby lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Thornsby works the jab nicely.
 James is rocked! James walks into a jab. Thornsby connects with a solid leg kick. Thornsby lands a slapping body shot.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Donk. Thornsby catches James right on the button with a cross. Thornsby slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Danga de danga de dang - Thornsby scores with a four punch combination! Oh James is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Thornsby throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck James on the side of the head. Thornsby scores with a three punch combo!

Ironcrotch fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Roserio sprawls well initially but Ironcrotch persists and gets the takedown into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are battling for position here. Roserio manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Roserio wants to sweep but no luck.
Ironcrotch drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ironcrotch jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Roserio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ironcrotch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Ironcrotch is in close to Roserio's body, working some short punches and elbows. Roserio is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Roserio moves into full mount! Ironcrotch won't be happy about that!
Roserio is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ironcrotch is surviving well by controlling Roserio's body position as best he can. This has been an exciting period of action! Roserio sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!  The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chiba fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Chiba is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kazunari is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kazunari has escaped and now he's on top! Kazunari is looking to advance position but Chiba has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Chiba is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Chiba swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kazunari is now in Chiba's guard. A big mistake from Chiba there, giving up the dominant position! Chiba shoots for a double leg takedown but Kazunari sprawls well. He's pushed Chiba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kazunari looks to land a left hand but Chiba moved out of range nicely.

Chiba gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Chiba is trying to control the position but Kazunari postures up. Chiba might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kazunari kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rudd shoots in but Zaire avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rudd throws a right and a left that both miss. Rudd shoots in looking for a takedown but Zaire manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rudd's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Rudd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rudd doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Rudd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Zaire connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rudd's hands. Zaire stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zaire wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Rudd. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zaire throws a combination that misses

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Collins misses with a looping left. Collins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Fred Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Collins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
 It looks like Robert Buddy has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Collins misses with a double jab

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Buddy lands an overhand right. Buddy cracks Collins with a right hand to the side of the head. Buddy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Buddy lands a jab. Collins takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Buddy tries to bum rush Collins with a series of wild strikes but Collins uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Collins slaps away a takedown attempt from Buddy, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Buddy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Buddy throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Collins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Buddy missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Fred Collins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Buddy has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Buddy is looking to work some ground and pound but Collins has wrist control. Collins working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Buddy.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Buddy working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Buddy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Collins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Buddy throws and elbow that misses. Collins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Buddy's guard. Nice move by Collins! Robert Buddy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Collins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Collins has gone for a leg lock! Buddy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Collins's guard. Buddy trying to control but Collins is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Robert Buddy showed his dominance in that final round. Well Buddy has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
