The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ward's waist but Ward gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kirk off to one side. Ward throws the left hand but Kirk avoids the punch easily. No luck for Kirk with that takedown attempt. Horrible takedown by Kirk or perhaps it was just good defense by Ward which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Kirk. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ward scores with a jab to the head.
Ward fails in his attempt to clinch. Ward misses with a hook. Kirk ducked under it nicely. Kirk has a takedown stuffed. Kirk drives through and clinches with Ward against the cage.
Kirk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ward lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ward scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Ward misses with a straight right. Ward lands a jab-cross combination. Kirk has managed to clinch.
Ward should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Kirk ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kirk no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ward is looking to stand up but Kirk won't let him. Kirk wriggles free and stands up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ward wants to clinch and Kirk counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Kirk pulls Ward into guard.
Kirk wants to sweep but no luck. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kirk is on top in guard.
Kirk lands a couple of decent looking shots. Ward is working an open guard so Kirk takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Ward throws a shot from downtown. Kirk moves away and avoids it. Kirk shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kirk was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Kirk controlling from mount. Ward really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirk. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kirk scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Ward?
This has been an exciting period of action! Ward is in a horrible position here. Kirk smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Ward is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kirk stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. Ward getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Kirk instigates a clinch. Kirk avoiding damage.

Kirk drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Ward smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. The crowd cheers as Ward lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kirk doesn't seem phased though. Ward ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kirk moves away. Ward lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Ward cracks Kirk with an open hand slap. Ward just misses with a punch to the body.
Ward lands a nice hook to Kirk's body. Kirk takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ward gets tackled into the cage by Kirk. Kirk maintains the clinch. Kirk can't get the takedown.
Kirk has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Ward uses from the top position. Ward decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kirk, up you get! Kirk has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ward finds it's way round the side to connect with Kirk's head. Ward throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Kirk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Kirk has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kirk is standing up over Ward. Ward looks to escape but Kirk dives into side control.
Kirk prevents Ward from escaping the position. Kirk stands up and beckons Ward to his feet. Ward checks a leg kick. Ward is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kirk. A jab lands there for Ward. Ward scores with a jab. Kirk acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Ward is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Kirk had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Kirk pushes Ward up against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kirk ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kirk no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Kirk pulls Ward in close to his closed guard and prevents Ward from doing any damage or advancing position. Kirk has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ward can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ward wants to stand but Kirk has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kirk has control of Ward's left arm, preventing Ward from doing any damage. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ward wants to stand but Kirk has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kirk pulls Ward in close to prevent any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Kirk dominated that round. That's time! Kirk's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Kirk fails with a takedown attempt. Ward connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Kirk gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ward tries to circle away but Kirk has him pinned against the cage. Kirk pulls guard successfully.
Ward must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ward wants to get up but he can't break Kirk's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Ward wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Kirk's closed guard. He's half up but Kirk has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Kirk pivots and extends the arm, Ward falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Kirk! Well done that man!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piqueno bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The fighters circling - Thauerskold Crusell throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Thauerskold Crusell pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Piqueno checks a leg kick nicely. Piqueno steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thauerskold Crusell. Maggie Thauerskold Crusell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thauerskold Crusell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A clash of legs there as Piqueno blocks the low kick. Thauerskold Crusell cracks a nice hook into Piqueno's ribs. Thauerskold Crusell misses with a leg kick. Thauerskold Crusell waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Piqueno. Piqueno decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Piqueno is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Thauerskold Crusell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tequila fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jack Tequila seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sloppy strikes from Tequila. Those never looked like landing. Thomas throws a head kick that misses. Tequila tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Thomas avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tequila is looking to take this fight into the clinch. No joy there for Thomas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Tequila stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tequila wants it to stay on the feet. Tequila shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thomas napping and manages to drive through into side control! Tequila has hold of Thomas's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Thomas seems comfortable defending it but Tequila has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Thomas is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Thomas is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Tequila couldn't care less - he's delighted!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a nice looking combination but Fernandez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Fernandez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jones's half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fernandez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Fernandez works his way into full mount! Fernandez lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fernandez pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Fernandez with good strikes from the mount here! Jones wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Jones flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Fernandez anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Jones and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Fernandez slips an arm under Jones chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Fernandez has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Fernandez is squeezing on Jones like an anaconda would it's prey. Jones fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Killin avoids it really well and circles away. Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Killin is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Killin circles away and we're back to standing. Johnson lunges at Killin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Killin's hand. A right-left combo lands from Killin.
It looks like Notch Johnson has been cut. Killin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Notch Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Killin scores with a one two! Johnson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Killin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Killin fails to land with a series of punches.
Johnson tries to clinch and Killin counters with a stiff right hand. Killin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Johnson throws a series of punches but Killin moves out of range. Johnson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Killin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Johnson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Killin looks gassed! Johnson lands some shots froms side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Johnson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Johnson lands a nice forearm strike. Johnson staying calm. Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Killin keeps working. Killin regains half guard, as Johnson was trying to land strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Johnson takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Johnson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Killin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Johnson controlling the pace. Johnson scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Ground and pound from Johnson. Johnson working Killin over with strikes. Johnson is controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Killin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Killin blocking the ground and pound attempt from Johnson. Johnson is looking to advance position but Killin won't allow it. Johnson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Johnson slips a nice elbow through Killin's hands, connecting with Killin's forehead. Johnson trying to mount his opponent but Killin defends it. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnson connects with a nice short shot to Killin's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Johnson is looking to stall here but Killin recovers full guard. Killin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Johnson cracks Killin with a solid left hand. Johnson landing some decent shots from guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Killin can do anything to dispel that myth. Johnson stands up over Killin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson looking to pass the guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Killin has wrist control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Notch Johnson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Notch Johnson's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Johnson throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Killin colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Johnson as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Killin is left battered and dazed whilst Johnson and his camp cheer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Klebanov looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Klebanov cracks the inside of Johnson's front leg. Johnson thuds his right hand into Klebanov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Johnson on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Klebanov moves out of range as Johnson strikes. Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss. Klebanov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Klebanov lands in his opponent's guard. Klebanov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Klebanov advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Klebanov is taking a breather. Johnson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is trying to stand.
Johnson wants to stand back up but Klebanov manages to pass into side control.
A lull in the action here. Johnson pushes Klebanov away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Klebanov gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Klebanov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Klebanov drags him back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Klebanov is staying tight to Johnson's torso, preventing him from escaping. Johnson tries to escape but Klebanov is in control. Johnson trying to remain calm as Klebanov controls from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
We're going to have a standup here because Evgeni Klebanov wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Johnson connects with a right hand. Klebanov shakes it off. Johnson throws a shot from downtown. Klebanov moves away and avoids it. Johnson misses with a body punch
and Klebanov counters with a slapping leg kick. Klebanov cracks a nice hook into Johnson's ribs. Klebanov throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Klebanov finishes the takedown easily into guard. Klebanov passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Klebanov passes to side control. Johnson explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! The fighters circling - Johnson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Klebanov with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Johnson misses the body punch and Klebanov moves into the clinch. Johnson looks gassed! An uppercut to the body lands inside from Klebanov. A hook to the body from Klebanov.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Klebanov lands a right hand. Klebanov cracks Johnson with a nice body shot. Klebanov jumps guard.
Johnson is fighting to break Klebanov's control of his arms but Klebanov is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Klebanov is on top in guard.
Klebanov stays in close to Johnson's body and controls the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
