2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Demian Maia! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jalen Reis! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Reis moves out of range and avoids them all easily. A punch combination from Maia misses. Reis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Maia defends it nicely. Reis shoots for a takedown but Maia saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Reis tries for a takedown but Maia sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Demian Maia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jalen Reis. Reis tries to improve position but can't. Maia decides to take the fight back to the feet. Reis dives in and grabs Maia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Maia pushes down on Reis's head and hops out.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Killer fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Leite looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! The Killer shoots in for a takedown but Leite shows good takedown defense. The Killer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vinicius The Killer. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Killer shoots in for a takedown but Leite shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. No luck with that takedown attempt from The Killer. The Killer shoots in for a double leg but Leite sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Leite is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Leite shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Leite scores a takedown into full mount! The Killer is squirming around, avoiding Leite's attempts to control the action. The Killer bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The Killer passes Leite's right leg, so he's now in half guard. The Killer is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Leite defends it well. The Killer is trying for a kimura here. Leite looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! The Killer wins by kimura!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! oliveira fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Raymon Dorh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dorh throws a right and a left that oliveira avoids nicely. oliveira misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. oliveira gets caught flat footed, as Dorh shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Dorh trying to control but oliveira is working from the bottom. Dorh throwing strikes but missing. Dorh wants to control from the top but oliveira keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. oliveira looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Dorh has picked oliveira up and slammed him! oliveira can't keep hold of the triangle and Dorh manages to pass to side control! Dorh is trying to ground and pound but oliveira uses the momentary lack of control by Dorh to regain half guard. oliveira actively working from the bottom here. oliveira gets full guard. oliveira is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dorh postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Dorh trying to control the position from guard on top but oliveira is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. oliveira is working an open guard so Dorh takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Dorh decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on oliveira, up you get! oliveira with a poor takedown and Dorh cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Dorh misses with the combination.
Dorh thuds a left hand into oliveira's body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Dorh lands a body shot.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Dorh here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dorh wants to stand up but oliveira is controlling the position.
oliveira is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. oliveira is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dorh connects with a nice short shot to oliveira's temple. Dorh content to control rather than advance. Dorh is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Dorh is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and oliveira defends it well. Dorh is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dorh missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! oliveira shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. oliveira showed some decent athleticism there. Son is trying is best to control the position here. Son moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Son keeping moving, preventing oliveira from controlling successfully. oliveira controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. oliveira pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Son is keeping the position for now.
We're going to have a standup here because binho oliveira wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. oliveira throws a hook to the side of Son's head but Son sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. oliveira tries to clinch up. Son throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. oliveira throws a series of punches but Son avoids them all with ease. oliveira throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Son was covering up waiting for the punch and oliveira finishes the takedown easily into guard. Son looking to hit a scissor sweep but oliveira is one step ahead there.

He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Son! Son takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. oliveira tries to control but Son wriggling away. oliveira throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Son because oliveira loaded up on that one. oliveira can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Son is looking to escape. oliveira pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Son wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. oliveira gets slowly back to his feet. oliveira misses with a takedown and Son counters with a good low kick that oliveira was not able to check. oliveira wants to clinch. oliveira wants to clinch up but Son keeps it at a distance. binho oliveira is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown by oliveira or perhaps it was just good defense by Son which made him look bad. oliveira swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

That's going to slow oliveira down. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Son swings away with a leg kick that misses. Son throws a leg kick that misses. oliveira throws a left and a right that both miss
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as oliveira checks a leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Son throws a sloppy head kick and oliveira moves out of range easily. oliveira checks the leg kick nicely there.
oliveira gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Son counters with a big head kick but oliveira shrugs it off. oliveira is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Son shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. binho oliveira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Son lands a jab. Good work by oliveira as he checks the leg kick. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Son stuffs the takedown. binho oliveira has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! oliveira pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boia displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tihuana. Boia with a poor takedown so Tihuana counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Boia wants to get back to his feet but Tihuana is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Tihuana seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Tihuana is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Tihuana working some strikes from top position. Tihuana lands a couple of decent looking shots. Boia wants to stand and escape but Tihuana is having none of it. Boia is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tihuana preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Boia landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boia is looking for a kimura but Tihuana is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Boia to get the leverage. The fighters are battling for position here. Tihuana manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boia's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Tihuana looking for a sweep. Not yet Tihuana, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tihuana throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Boia gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Tihuana tries for a takedown but Boia circles away easily so Boia counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boia accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Boia won't allow Tihuana to sweep him here. Boia is sitting in close to Tihuana's body. Tihuana has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Boia is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Boia is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Tihuana.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Creed rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alves moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Creed has managed to clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves has Creed pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Creed manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Alves is pressed up against the cage. Creed has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Alves down to the mat. Alves avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Alves drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves stopping the sweep attempt from Creed. Creed bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard. Creed missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Creed is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petkovic tries to close the distance and clinch but Kuusela swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Petkovic shoots in for a takedown but Kuusela shows good takedown defense. The fight stays on the outside here - Petkovic looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Petkovic tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kuusela with a flurry of punches that miss. Petkovic trying to keep a closed guard but Kuusela is proving a slippery customer.
Petkovic is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Kuusela passes easily into side control. Nice work.
And that's the end of the fight! Matti Kuusela showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kuusela, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
