The bell rings for round one and we are underway! ya vebuka moves in looking to clinch but Jewtuszko pushes him off. ya vebuka throws a head kick that half lands.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Moore on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Moore closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Russo to the mat! Russo manages to get full guard. Moore drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Russo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Moore has Russo in his guard. Russo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Moore's head. Moore controls Russo momentarily but Russo frees himself. Kenji Kuraba is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kuraba pinned against the cage. Kuraba gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kuraba closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jones quickly recovers to half guard.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Kuraba is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jones defends it well. Kuraba seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Kuraba wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it. Kuraba is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Jones is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Jones is defending against the submission attempts here by Kuraba.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kuraba trying to control the action but Jones is working from the bottom. Kuraba is looking for a kimura here.
Kuraba is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jones sees it coming and defends easily. Kuraba working the head and body with strikes. Kuraba trying to pass the guard but Jones defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Kuraba is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Jones is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kuraba's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kuraba's back! Kuraba takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Kuraba tries to escape but Jones has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Kuraba has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Jones. Jones is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kuraba tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Kenji Kuraba has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kuraba throwing hammer fists to the chest of Jones. What's that going to do exactly?
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kenji Kuraba. I have no idea who won that fight.
