The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Max shoots in and bounces Statler off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Statler can do anything to dispel that myth. Statler looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Statler can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Max controls the pace. Statler keeping full guard, as Max tries to pass. Max stays in close to Statler's body and controls the position. Max tries to free his leg and advance position but Statler is retaining full guard. Max is working hard here to advance position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Max seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Pepsi Max has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Max feints and as Statler raises his hands in defense, Max changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Max is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Max forces his way into half guard. Max is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Max has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Max unloading with bombs! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pepsi Max dominated that round. That's time! Max's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Max closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Max lands in his opponent's guard. Max postures up and lands a big shot to Statler's brow. Max sitting in guard, not really doing much. Max stands and throws Statler's legs to the side, diving into side control. Statler is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Max tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Max has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Max in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Max has an Americana. Statler didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Max is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Max hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracielo checks a low kick from Braga. Nice body punch from Braga. Gracielo tries for a takedown but Braga sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gracielo avoids a punch combination nicely.

Braga tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gracielo is able to avoid easily. Braga throws out a leg kick but Gracielo moves out of range and Braga only half commits. Nice straight punches there by Braga. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Braga.

Braga swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Braga rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracielo moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Braga tries to bum rush Gracielo with a series of wild strikes but Gracielo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Gracielo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Braga looks to land a left hand but Gracielo moved out of range nicely. Gracielo blocks a jab. Braga looks to land a right hand but Gracielo moved out of range. Nice uppercut lands for Braga. That snapped Gracielo's head back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Braga dips to his left and cracks Gracielo with an uppercut! Gracielo moves out of range as Braga strikes. Gracielo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Braga bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Gracielo's head backwards. A head kick misses from Braga. Braga throws a leg kick but Gracielo sees it coming and checks it nicely. A jab-cross combination lands for Braga and sends Gracielo crashing to the mat! Braga follows him down to the mat - Gracielo regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet! Braga wants to get back to his feet.

Braga looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Gracielo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Braga decides to stand up. Braga scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Gracielo moves forwards but Braga connects with a nice, crisp jab. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Braga fails to land with a series of punches.

Gracielo creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Braga sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Braga here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Braga knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. You can see the frustration on Braga's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

He's got it. We're now in half guard. Wright seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. West tries to get to full guard but Wright has control of the leg. West is refusing to be controlled, as Wright sits in half guard. Wright throwing shots but West is blocking nicely. Wright missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Wright tries to stand but can't do so whilst West controls his leg. Wright looks to land a strike but West avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Now West goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Wright stumbles back but West runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Wright to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Wright will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Bob shoots in for a takedown but McGuire shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bob tries to bum rush McGuire with a series of wild strikes but McGuire uses good footwork to avoid the assault. McGuire throws a jab but it's blocked by Bob. McGuire scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Bob doesn't seem bothered though. Bob takes a shot to the body in his stride.
