The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bahia slips under a jab from Iglesias. Bahia tries to close the distance and clinch but Iglesias swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Bahia shoots in and bounces Iglesias off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Iglesias is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bahia wants to pass the guard but Iglesias is keeping the position. Iglesias wants to sweep here but Bahia controlling him for the moment. Bahia working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Iglesias wants to stand and escape but Bahia is having none of it. Sanabria Iglesias has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Iglesias shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Iglesias stands up and beckons Bahia to join him on the feet. Iglesias gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bahia counters with a nice double leg into side control. Iglesias won't be happy with that. Iglesias tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bahia easily slips into full mount! Bahia in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bahia! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Iglesias is not content to let Bahia control the position.

Iglesias manages to get to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bahia with a flurry of punches that miss.

Melo showed some decent athleticism there. Melo missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Melo is trying to control the action in half guard but Malas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Melo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Malas is just riding it out for now. Melo eventually gives up the hold. Malas is staying active underneath Melo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

He's now in the guard on the top. Malas drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Malas seems to have locked his on tight now - Melo screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Malas, as he picks up the win!
