The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
joe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Salsalani.
Salsalani lands with a shot to the body.
Salsalani throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Salsalani misses with a double jab.
Salsalani lands a jab to joe's midsection.
joe walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
joe misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Salsalani counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Salsalani is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down joe rather than just go for the knockout.

Salsalani comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salsalani fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. joe looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Salsalani looks to land a combination but joe avoids it well.
Salsalani wants to clinch.

joe feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Salsalani wants to sweep but no luck.

Salsalani is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and joe defends well.
joe content to stall in guard here.

joe stands up and waves to Salsalani to follow him.
Salsalani keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
joe throws a head kick that misses.
joe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Salsalani pinned against the cage. Salsalani gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marc joe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Salsalani takes a swing at joe's ribcage but misses.

joe shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Salsalani manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Salsalani is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

joe changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Salsalani looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

joe is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Salsalani will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

joe is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Salsalani is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Salsalani really doesn't want to stay on the ground with joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Salsalani dodges the ground and pound from joe.
Salsalani is trying to improve his position.
joe controls the position.
Salsalani is looking to reverse the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Salsalani is being controlled here.
joe in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
joe works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Salsalani is trying to control joe's posture but joe avoids it.
joe is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
joe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Salsalani keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Salsalani has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. joe is working away from the top position though.

Salsalani is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and joe has latched onto it... Big trouble! joe pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Salsalani is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from joe!

Jr tries to pull guard but Tinsley won't allow it.

Tinsley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jr on the ground.
