Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shakyamuni Buddha!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryoichi Yukimura!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Buddha shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yukimura's guard.

Buddha drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Buddha jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Yukimura bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Buddha's guard.

Buddha had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yukimura defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Buddha looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yukimura is one step ahead there.
Buddha is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Buddha is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Buddha blocks the strikes from Yukimura.

Buddha is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Yukimura defends it well.
Yukimura trying to get back to full guard but Buddha takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Buddha tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Yukimura is trying to escape the mount.

Buddha is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Buddha extends the arm and Yukimura is forced to tap!
