The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ramirez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alves was well out of range. Poor timing from Ramirez.
Ramirez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ramirez misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alves shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. He's pushed Alves 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Reid is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
