The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Zampietre looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Davis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Zampietre looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Davis stands up and beckons Zampietre to his feet.
Davis misses with a jab, cross combination.
Davis throws a nice looking combination but Zampietre bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Davis forces Zampietre back against the cage and clinches.

Davis pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis lands some strikes from the bottom.

Davis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Zampietre is aware though and is defending well.
Davis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Zampietre got a little sloppy there for a moment and Davis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zampietre has managed to get both his arms back between Davis's legs - danger averted.
Zampietre stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Zampietre is posturing up here but Davis has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Zampietre tries to roll out but it's too tight and Zampietre has to tap! Slick submission there by Davis!
