4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Valery Sutkin! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller throws a front kick that sends Sutkin stumbling back into the cage. Miller lands an overhand right. Miller throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Sutkin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Nice shot by Miller. Miller missing with a left hand there. Sutkin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Sutkin stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Miller. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sutkin scores with a decent looking hook. A good leg kick by Miller. Sutkin looks gassed! Miller thows a body kick. Sutkin tries to catch it but that hurt him. A nice leg kick lands there from Miller. Miller thuds his right hand into Sutkin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Miller lands with a nice combination. Sutkin backs away looking to recover. Sutkin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Miller fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sutkin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. A jab lands there for Miller. Miller lands with a right hand. Miller throws a right hand that Sutkin ducks under and follows up with a left that Sutkin also avoids with ease. Miller jabs Sutkin to the body, keeping him at a distance. Miller dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sutkin. That did some damage! Miller tests Sutkin's chin there with a solid looking shot. A cross from Miller lands. Miller lands a big head kick that sends Sutkin tumbling to the mat! Miller takes a step backwards and waves Sutkin back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Sutkin is rocked! Miller cracks Sutkin with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Sutkin falls to his knees and Miller doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romero shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense. Romero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Romero persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing. Romero tries for a takedown but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Roy Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Victor Romero. Gracie looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Romero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie throws and elbow that misses. Romero uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gracie's guard. Nice move by Romero! Romero must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romero pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Romero has gone for a leg lock! Gracie slips out almost immediately though and dives into Romero's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Romero is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Romero can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gracie controls the pace. Gracie's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Roy Gracie has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Romero circles away from the clinch attempt.
Romero avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gracie fails in his attempt to clinch. Romero circles away from the clinch attempt.
Romero thows a body shot but no joy. Romero looks to clinch and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Romero won't be happy with that. Romero managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Gracie.
Romero is looking to regain half guard here but Gracie keeps moving and retains side control. Romero on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Romero has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gracie but great work by Romero. Gracie controls the position for a moment. Romero looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Romero wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his arm. Romero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gracie knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Gracie can't do much from the bottom here. Gracie tries to improve position but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Romero wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his arm. Gracie isn't going anywhere. Gracie is not content to let Romero control the position. Gracie gets back to half guard. Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Romero's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Romero's back! Romero is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gracie off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Gracie controlling from the back. Oooh a big shot gets through from Gracie. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Gracie is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Romero. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Gracie dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gracie moves into the clinch. Gracie has Romero pressed against the cage, preventing Romero from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Gracie is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Gracie can't get the takedown.
Romero has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Gracie uses from the top position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie stands and throws Romero's legs to the side, diving into side control. Gracie looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Romero taking punishment in the form of punches.

Romero tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Gracie cranks the arm and Romero screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Romero, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

It looks like Antonio Peligrini has been cut. Gibson decides to pull guard. Gibson has his feet on Peligrini's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! A big head kick from Gibson and Peligrini is sent sprawling to the canvas!
Peligrini is rocked! Gibson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Gibson loads up on a big left hand. Peligrini felt that one! Long displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Redondo. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Redondo is defended easily by Long. Alex Long has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kelvin Redondo. Long lands a leg kick that knocks Redondo off balance momentarily. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Michaels or perhaps it was just good defense by Fletcher which made him look bad. Michaels feints a jab promting Fletcher to slip. Michaels then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Fletcher slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Nice defenses there by Michaels. Fletcher missing with a left hand there. Michaels was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Michaels gets a clinch. Michaels drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Perseus has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Perseus is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Perseus content to control rather than advance. Vatali is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perseus frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Perseus wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Vatali is working to get back to half guard.
