0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cauliflower Ears! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ears shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Magtanggol defends it nicely. Ears with a poor takedown and Magtanggol counters with a single leg into guard. Ears didn't expect that. Magtanggol trying to control but Ears is working from the bottom. Ears keeping full guard, as Magtanggol tries to pass. Ears should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Magtanggol gets to his feet - Ears follows without any prompting. Ears takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
It looks like Cauliflower Ears has been cut. Ears misses with a takedown attempt - Magtanggol sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Totoy Magtanggol has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cauliflower Ears. Magtanggol turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ears takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Ears looks gassed! Ears seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Magtanggol shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Ears is backing up but Magtanggol catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Ears covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Magtanggol Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mark shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brandrick but Brandrick pushes him off and we're back to square one. Brandrick lands with a nice combination. Mark backs away looking to recover. Mark doesn't succeed with the takedown and Brandrick counters with a nice body shot. Horrible takedown by Mark or perhaps it was just good defense by Brandrick which made him look bad. Lisa Brandrick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Mark. Brandrick swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Mark. Brandrick fails to land with a series of punches.
Brandrick throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mark. Brandrick throws a series of punches but Mark moves out of range. Mark closes this distance looking for a takedown but Brandrick circles away. Brandrick connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mark. Mark circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Lisa Brandrick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Decent striking displayed by Brandrick there. Some wild striking there from Brandrick.
A cross from Brandrick lands. Brandrick lands a jab. Brandrick swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brandrick lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Brandrick. Brandrick jabs Mark right on the nose. Mark blinks but takes it well. Brandrick slaps away a takedown attempt from Mark, before circling back to the center of the mat. Brandrick bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mark's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mark is defended easily by Brandrick. Lisa Brandrick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mark shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brandrick pinned against the cage. Brandrick gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Mark looks gassed! Brandrick stalks Mark and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Mark's face. Mark staggers backwards, shaken. A left and a right from Brandrick both land. Nice combination. Brandrick leaves Mark with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Mark has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Mark is rocked! Mark dodges the punch combination from Brandrick.
Brandrick looks to land a combination. Mark sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Mark is still on wobbly legs! Can Brandrick finish him? Brandrick circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Mark to the canvas! Mark doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Brandrick keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piensavi is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Contini throws a right hand that Piensavi ducks under and follows up with a left that Piensavi also avoids with ease. Piensavi keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Contini. Contini circles away from the clinch attempt.
Contini gets tackled into the cage by Piensavi. Piensavi maintains the clinch. Contini lands a body punch in the clinch. Contini breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Contini keeps the fight on the outside. Contini throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Piensavi sees it coming and avoids it easily. Piensavi tries to clinch but Contini is having none of it. Contini uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Piensavi.
Contini tries to bum rush Piensavi with a series of wild strikes but Piensavi uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Contini lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Piensavi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Contini swats him away and circles back towards the center. Piensavi drives through and clinches with Contini against the cage.
Contini changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Piensavi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Piensavi misses with an uppercut. Contini saw that one coming. Piensavi moves in looking to clinch but Contini pushes him off. Contini missing with a left hand there. Piensavi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Contini plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
That's one minute gone in the round. Piensavi tries to close the distance and clinch but Contini swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Piensavi wants to clinch. Contini dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Contini avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sloppy strikes from Contini. Those never looked like landing. Contini staying out of range there. Piensavi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Piensavi is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Piensavi closes the distance looking to clinch and Contini connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Piensavi scores with a hook to the body. Contini takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Piensavi closes the distance and clinches. Contini holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Piensavi is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Piensavi avoiding damage as Contini throws knees to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Contini is stalling here.
Contini breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Contini cracks a nice hook into Piensavi's ribs. Contini connects with a leg kick. Piensavi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Piensavi takes one to the side of the head.
Contini scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Contini lands a slapping body shot.
Piensavi walks into a left hand. Contini lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Contini fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Piensavi looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Piensavi walks into a jab. Luciano Contini seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Contini scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Contini lands with a thumping leg kick.
Contini lands a head kick!
Contini slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Contini feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Piensavi's calf. Contini cracks Piensavi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Contini goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A chopping leg kick lands by Contini. Contini stuns Piensavi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Piensavi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Contini moves into the clinch successfully.
Contini just leaning against Piensavi, taking a breather. Contini continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Contini wants the takedown. Piensavi is fighting it off but Contini persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Piensavi's guard against the cage. Contini stands up from Piensavi's guard - Contini perhaps looking for a knockout. Contini lands a nice shot to the body.
Contini clinches up with Piensavi and pushes him back against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee calls for Contini to work.
Piensavi is looking to break free of the clinch but Contini has double underhooks. Contini's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. That kick from Contini tenderised Piensavi's leg. Piensavi is trying to keep his angry face on. Contini cracks Piensavi with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Contini!
Contini with a body punch. A glancing blow. Piensavi takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Contini rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Piensavi moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Contini listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Contini is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Piensavi had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Danga de danga de dang - Contini scores with a four punch combination!
Piensavi is rocked! A left lands for Contini. Oh Piensavi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! BOOM! Contini lands a beautiful left hook that drops Piensavi. Piensavi tries to recover but Contini is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Piensavi lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kramer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Kramer misses with a hook. Shortcut ducked under it nicely. Kramer closes the distance and lands a one-two. Kramer throws a body punch but Shortcut moves out of range. Kramer swinging wildly here.
Kramer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
No joy there for Shortcut, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jab from Kramer. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shortcut scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kramer doesn't seem bothered though. Kramer throws a hook but Shortcut blocks it. Kramer takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kramer is breathing heavily. Kramer avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Shortcut's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kramer under the eye.
It looks like John Kramer has been cut. Shortcut feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kramer sprawling to the canvas! Kramer rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Shortcut finish him?!
Shortcut punishes Kramer's body with a nice straight punch. Shortcut missing with a left hand there. Kramer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Shortcut looks to land a combination but Kramer avoids it well. Shortcut lands a nice hook to Kramer's body. Kramer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Shortcut cracks Kramer with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Shortcut has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Kramer to stand back up!
Kramer is rocked! Kramer bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Shortcut comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Kramer falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Kramer was out before he hit the floor!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bija looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Knight! Bija controlling his opponent. Knight tries to hold on but Bija postures up. Bija trying to control but Knight is having none of it. Bija takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jordan Bija wasn't doing enough on the ground. Bija misses with a takedown and Knight counters with a takedown into side control. Knight working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight moves into full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bija is desperately trying to improve his position but Knight has a good base and remains in mount. Knight has control of Bija's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Bija regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bija is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight is working for a guillotine from mount but Bija frees his head quite easily.
Bija wants to hold on but Knight pushes him away. Bija is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Knight locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Bija is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maurizio wants to clinch and Martinez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Maurizio! Martinez sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Martinez prevents Maurizio from getting the reversal. Martinez throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Maurizio sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Martinez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Martinez is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Maurizio! Martinez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Maurizio's face.
Martinez landing shots from mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Maurizio wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Martinez.
Martinez avoids the attempt from Maurizio to control. Martinez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Maurizio can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez tries to control but Maurizio wriggling away. BOOM! Martinez connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Poor strikes thrown by Martinez there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Martinez is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Maurizio is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Maurizio flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Martinez anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Maurizio and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Martinez slips an arm under Maurizio chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Martinez has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Martinez is squeezing on Maurizio like an anaconda would it's prey. Maurizio fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Duo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Snickers Duo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Banner swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Banner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Duo as he jumps to the side. Duo tries to clinch up and Banner counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Duo needs to keep his hands up - Banner had a free shot at his head there.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hercules gets a takedown into half guard. McPunches pushes Hercules off looking to stand but Hercules dives back in and keeps control.
Hercules is figuring out what he wants to do next. Hercules is looking to advance position but McPunches won't allow it. Hercules is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hercules thows a big elbow that misses. McPunches is looking to stand up but Hercules isn't so interested in that idea. Hercules has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McPunches kicks Hercules off and gets to his feet.

Hercules keeps control of McPunches as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. McPunches has had enough of the clinch but Hercules keeps him there for the moment. Hercules scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Punchy McPunches has been cut. McPunches looks gassed! Hercules utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Hercules has McPunches pushed against the cage. Hercules is leaning against McPunches and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Hercules lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. McPunches misses with a body punch.
