1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Ren Rothschild! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Valbjorn Faber! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rothschild shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Faber counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Faber. Faber advances to half guard. Rothschild is defending against the submission attempts here by Faber.
Faber is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rothschild defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Faber is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Rothschild is trying to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Faber wants to pass the guard but Rothschild is defending well. Rothschild trying to control from the bottom.
Faber not landing any meaningful shots this time. Rothschild is holding on to half guard well. Faber is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Rothschild really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Rothschild looks like he's trying to stand up.

Faber trying to mount his opponent but Rothschild defends it. Faber is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Rothschild keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Faber is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rothschild sees it coming and defends easily. Faber is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rothschild doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Faber.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Faber is looking to stall here but Rothschild recovers full guard. Faber won't allow Rothschild to get back to his feet. Rothschild controls Faber momentarily but Faber frees himself. Faber stands up over Rothschild, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Faber won't allow Rothschild to sweep him here. Rothschild manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Faber is working to get back to half guard.
Faber is squirming around, avoiding Rothschild's attempts to control the action. Rothschild working away from the top, dropping strikes. Rothschild controlling the position easily from mount. Rothschild trying to control but Faber is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valbjorn Faber dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Rothschild fails with the takedown and Faber counters with a shoot takedown. Rothschild fights it but they end up in guard. Faber controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Rothschild looking to hit a scissor sweep but Faber is one step ahead there. Faber trying to control the position from guard on top but Rothschild is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Faber throws a strike but Rothschild rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Faber trying to keep a closed guard but Rothschild is proving a slippery customer.
Rothschild will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Rothschild pushes down on Faber's leg and manages to get into half guard. Faber tries to kick Rothschild off but Rothschild keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rothschild is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Faber is looking to control Rothschild's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Faber avoid being mounted? Faber tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Rothschild trying to control from Faber's half guard. Faber has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Faber keeping full guard, as Rothschild tries to pass. Rothschild has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Faber throwing short punches from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Rothschild pushes down on Faber's leg and manages to get into half guard. Rothschild not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Rothschild is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Faber defends it well. Faber trying to hold on to Rothschild's head to control him but Rothschild postures up.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barford clinches up with Holmberg and pushes him back against the cage. Holmberg's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Barford tries to clinch and Holmberg counters with a shoot takedown. Barford fights it but they end up in guard. Barford is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Holmberg is controlling him. Holmberg gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Barford wants to clinch but Holmberg slips to the side and Holmberg counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Barford wants to stand but Holmberg is controlling the position.

Barford crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Holmberg - the referee stops the clock and Barford gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Holmberg. Barford manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Barford blocks a head kick by Holmberg.

Barford will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Holmberg throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Holmberg lands with a kick to the temple. Barford shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Barford takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Barford tries to clinch and Holmberg counters with a nice leg kick. A head kick from Holmberg lands but Barford takes it in his stride. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bear Shield drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bear Shield trying to control the position from guard on top but Kulig is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bear Shield might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kulig kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bear Shield throwing strikes but missing. Bear Shield wants to control from the top but Kulig keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Bear Shield trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tomas Bear Shield. Bear Shield tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kulig was well out of range. Poor timing from Bear Shield. Bear Shield shoots for a takedown but Kulig saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bear Shield tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kulig sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bear Shield somewhat. Kulig darts in trying to clinch and Bear Shield counters with a left to the body. Kulig tries to clinch up and Bear Shield counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bear Shield stays in close to Kulig's body and controls the position.

Bear Shield in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Kulig keeping moving, preventing Bear Shield from controlling successfully. Kulig utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bear Shield wants to control from the top but Kulig keeps moving. Bear Shield stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kulig swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bear Shield postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bear Shield fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mort Kulig has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomas Bear Shield. Kulig moves to clinch but Bear Shield breaks away and Bear Shield counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kulig wants to control but Bear Shield is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bear Shield slows the pace down in half guard. Kulig is staying active underneath Bear Shield, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bear Shield thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kulig's head. Bear Shield lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bear Shield putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Kulig is looking to get to half guard. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kulig tries to get out of the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some bone on bone action there as CroCow checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. CroCow is looking to slow Ak down with leg kicks. CroCow tries a head kick but it misses.
CroCow lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Ak walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. CroCow checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. CroCow looks to score with a jab to the body but Ak is just out of range. CroCow throws a push kick but Ak slaps the foot to one side. Ak throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A head kick misses from Ak. CroCow throws a right and a left that both miss. CroCow throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ak counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in CroCow's guard now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ak gets back to full guard.
