Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Barhydt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Finbar Calamitius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barhydt comes to the cage accompanied by Fairies wear boots- Black Sabbath . Finbar Calamitius told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Finbar Calamitius! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barhydt swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Calamitius tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Barhydt manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Barhydt swats away the attempt to clinch by Calamitius. Barhydt scores with a takedown into Calamitius's guard. Calamitius can't keep his opponent in guard - Barhydt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Barhydt prevents Calamitius from standing back up.
Barhydt not landing any meaningful shots this time. Barhydt looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Barhydt trying to control from half guard but Calamitius is working away. Calamitius regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Barhydt. Calamitius wants to stand and escape but Barhydt is having none of it.

Barhydt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Barhydt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barhydt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Barhydt trying to control but Calamitius is working from the bottom. Calamitius is looking to stand up but Barhydt isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barhydt wants to control from the top but Calamitius keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. John Barhydt wasn't doing enough on the ground. Calamitius tries to clinch up but Barhydt circles away and keeps his distance. Finbar Calamitius seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barhydt throws a right hand that Calamitius ducks under and follows up with a left that Calamitius also avoids with ease. Calamitius tries to clinch up but Barhydt circles away and keeps his distance. Calamitius forces Barhydt back against the cage and clinches. Barhydt tries a knee to the head but Calamitius blocks it.
Calamitius connects with a nasty looking knee right to Barhydt's face.
It looks like John Barhydt has been cut. Barhydt pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Calamitius gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Barhydt gets the takedown into side control. Calamitius dodges the ground and pound from Barhydt. Calamitius pushes Barhydt away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Barhydt gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Nice escape there! The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Calamitius tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Barhydt lands a nice shot to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Calamitius is defended easily by Barhydt. Barhydt lands a jab to the nose. Calamitius tries to clinch but Barhydt is having none of it. Barhydt shoots in and gets a takedown into Calamitius's guard. Barhydt trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Calamitius is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barhydt is controlling him.

Barhydt postures up in Calamitius's guard and throws a big left but Calamitius blocks it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calamitius wants to stand and escape but Barhydt is having none of it. Calamitius is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Barhydt trying to control but Calamitius is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barhydt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Calamitius is trying to stand back up but Barhydt is controlling him

Barhydt is looking to take a break and control but Calamitius is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Calamitius is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Barhydt is controlling him well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Finbar Calamitius showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on John Barhydt's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Calamitius is trying to stand up here but Barhydt is controlling him well. Barhydt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Calamitius doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Barhydt. Barhydt is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Calamitius tries to kick Barhydt off in order to stand up. Barhydt Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Calamitius can do anything to dispel that myth. Calamitius wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Barhydt throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Barhydt is looking to take a break and control but Calamitius is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Calamitius is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Barhydt asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barhydt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Barhydt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Calamitius is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Barhydt is trying to get an arm triangle but Calamitius is defending well. Calamitius is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Barhydt advances to full mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Calamitius is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Barhydt wants to finish this one by submission but Calamitius is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Barhydt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Juice looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Juice wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Juice is one step ahead there. Johnson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Juice stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson. Juice chips away with some ground and pound. Juice is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Juice stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Juice working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Johnson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Johnson looking for a sweep. Not yet Johnson, not yet.

DeShaun Johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Juice throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Johnson was covering up waiting for the punch and Juice finishes the takedown easily into guard. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Juice from controlling successfully. Juice preventing the sweep. Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Juice. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Juice is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Juice is controlling Johnson's position as best he can from this difficult position. Johnson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Juice preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Rassberry Juice has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Juice shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Juice counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johnson! Juice working for a submission but Johnson is keeping him at bay. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. A nice elbow there by Juice. Johnson is trying to reverse the position but instead Juice has taken his back - oops! Juice lands with a hammerfist to the side of Johnson's head. You can see the frustration on Johnson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Johnson is taking damage to the body and head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Juice tightening his grip on Johnson, looking for the choke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Juice is not going to allow Johnson to sit and survive in this position. Johnson tries to roll but Juice sticks to his back.
Juice scores with punches and elbows. Johnson defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Johnson has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Juice looking for the choke but no joy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnson is trying to defend against the choke here but Juice has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Juice Tightens the hold and Johnson taps out furiously! Juice displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Siuta misses with a hook. Kayo ducked under it nicely. Siuta throws a quick inside leg kick. A nice combination there by Siuta.
Kayo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Siuta is trying to defend but Kayo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Siuta avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kayo. Siuta is in trouble now - Kayo has advanced to mount! Kayo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Kayo lands with some strikes. Siuta is looking to get to half guard. Kayo wants to finish this one by submission but Siuta is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kayo. Kayo avoids the attempt from Siuta to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kayo wants to control the pace but Siuta is squirming around nicely.

Siuta might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kayo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Kayo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Siuta pulls Kayo in close to prevent any damage. Kayo throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kayo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kayo is looking to work some ground and pound but Siuta has wrist control. Siuta manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kayo manages to get himself to full guard.

Siuta throws out a leg kick but Kayo moves out of range and Siuta only half commits. Siuta's corner calls for a 1-2. Siuta obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kayo throws a jab when Siuta was well out of range. Siuta misses with a looping left. Siuta defending well as Kayo loads up on a big left hand. Siuta throws a series of punches but Kayo moves out of range. Kayo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Siuta circles away quickly and effectively. Siuta tries to bum rush Kayo with a series of wild strikes but Kayo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A nice leg kick lands there from Siuta. Kayo throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Kayo checks a leg kick. Siuta throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Siuta lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Siuta. Kayo tries to close the distance and clinch but Siuta swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kayo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Siuta manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Kayo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Siuta connects with a right hand. Kayo shakes it off. Kayo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Siuta connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Jay Siuta will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kayo throws a shot from downtown. Siuta moves away and avoids it. Good exchange - Siuta coming out on top. Kayo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Siuta thumps Kayo with a low kick. Kayo tries to clinch up. Kayo closes the distance and clinches. Kayo struggles to land a body shot inside as Siuta controls his hands.

We're going to have a standup here because Bubba Kayo wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Kayo looks to land a left hand but Siuta moved out of range nicely. Kayo moves into range and connects with a jab. Kayo doesn't succeed with the takedown and Siuta counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kayo thinking. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kayo throws a shot from downtown. Siuta moves away and avoids it. Siuta misses with the combination.
