0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bret McKenzie! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Vladimir Khabensky and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKenzie throws a sloppy head kick and Nikiten moves out of range easily. A head kick misses from McKenzie. McKenzie avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McKenzie throws out a token jab with nothing on it. McKenzie is looking to slow Nikiten down with leg kicks. Nikiten shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with McKenzie but McKenzie pushes him off and we're back to square one. Nikiten lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McKenzie circles away quickly and effectively. Nikiten throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McKenzie throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Nikiten is breathing heavily. McKenzie tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. McKenzie forces Nikiten back against the cage and clinches. McKenzie pushes Nikiten back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Still in the clinch, McKenzie scores with a nice short uppercut. McKenzie lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. McKenzie pushes Nikiten back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Nikiten tries to break free but McKenzie pushes him back against the cage. McKenzie lands with a short shot to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! McKenzie lands a left hand that snaps the head of Nikiten backwards. McKenzie throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Nikitens head. McKenzie lands with a short shot to the head. McKenzie lands a right hand that snaps the head of Nikiten backwards. A shot in the inside from McKenzie. With the fighters clinched against the cage, McKenzie creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Nikiten is rocked! Nikiten blocks an uppercut.
Oh Nikiten is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from McKenzie fails to land. Nikiten seems to have got his legs back now. Nikiten takes a shot to the head. McKenzie lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nikiten backwards. McKenzie creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Nikiten with a big uppercut! Nikiten tries to clinch up but McKenzie pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Nikiten to the mat! Nikiten covers up and McKenzie unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vanchugov tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Brajnik has closed the distance and engaged Vanchugov in a clinch.
Vanchugov is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Brajnik is keeping busy. Brajnik has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vanchugov clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Brajnik could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Brajnik's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Brajnik not allowing Vanchugov to control his hands. Brajnik tries to keep control of the position but Vanchugov is staying busy. Brajnik is trying to stick to Vanchugov's back but Vanchugov is turning into Brajnik. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Brajnik's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Vanchugov. Brajnik tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brajnik working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vanchugov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vanchugov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Brajnik not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Oh, that's bad for Vanchugov! Brajnik is in the full mount, landing strikes. Vanchugov keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Vanchugov is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Vanchugov has decided that throwing punches whilst being mounted is the best he can manage just now. Vanchugov is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Brajnik avoids the attempt from Vanchugov to control.

Vanchugov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Brajnik raining down hammerfists from mount. Brajnik is in the full mount, landing strikes. Brajnik controlling the pace for now. Vanchugov tries to control Brajnik's body but Brajnik pushes him off. Vanchugov squirms to his side and now Brajnik has his back! Vanchugov has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Brajnik.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vanchugov holds on and takes a little breather. Brajnik in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. OK we're going to have a standup here. Valery Vanchugov hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. That's three minutes gone in the round. Brajnik stands up out of the half guard. Vanchugov doesn't succeed with the takedown and Brajnik counters by clinching up. Brajnik jumps into guard, dragging Vanchugov to the mat.
Vanchugov lands a couple of digs. Vanchugov wants to control from the top but Brajnik keeps moving. Vanchugov engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Vanchugov passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vanchugov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Brajnik keeps working. Vanchugov stands up and we're back to a striking position. Vanchugov tries to clinch but Brajnik is having none of it. Vanchugov jabs at Brajnik's body. Vanchugov tries to clinch but fails miserably so Brajnik counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Valery Vanchugov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vanchugov throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
And that's the end of the fight! Dmitriy Brajnik showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brajnik, winning every round. Will the judges agree? Let's see what he's got on the ground. Halikov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Welsh is just riding it out for now. Halikov eventually gives up the hold. Halikov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Halikov throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Welsh's body to avoid the submission. Welsh has instead reached around Halikov's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Welsh arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Saidullayev throws a right and a left that Crusade avoids nicely. Saidullayev throws a push kick but Crusade slaps the foot to one side. Saidullayev lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Saidullayev fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Saidullayev connects with an inside leg kick. Crusade is breathing heavily. Saidullayev connects with an inside leg kick. Saidullayev lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

That'll leave a bruise. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Crusade chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Saidullayev can pounce on him.

Saidullayev dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Crusade. That did some damage! Saidullayev thumps Crusade with a low kick. Saidullayev throws a nice outside leg kick. Saidullayev lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Saidullayev takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Crusade takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saidullayev connects with an inside leg kick. Crusade steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Saidullayev. That one must have hurt. Saidullayev lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Crusade at a distance.
Crusade on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Crusade takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Crusade is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Saidullayev with a jab. Saidullayev connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Saidullayev throws a front kick that sends Crusade stumbling back into the cage. A cross from Saidullayev lands. Saidullayev with a body punch. A glancing blow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice inside leg kick there by Saidullayev. That's going to slow Crusade down. Saidullayev connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Crusade's hands. Ashim Saidullayev is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jab by Saidullayev. Crusade chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Saidullayev can pounce on him.

Ashim Saidullayev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crusade takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. A nice inside leg kick there by Saidullayev. That's going to slow Crusade down. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Saidullayev jabs Crusade to the body, keeping him at a distance. Saidullayev jabs Crusade to the body, keeping him at a distance. Crusade tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Crusade on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Saidullayev connects with a good right hand that stumbles Crusade. Crusade circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Saidullayev has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Saidullayev throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Saidullayev throws a leg kick which misses Crusade's front leg but catches the back leg as Crusade tries to avoid it. Saidullayev chopping away at his opponent's legs.
