Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Wankerl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flash Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wankerl kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Voodoo Chile by Jimi Hendrix. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wankerl is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wankerl had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Gordon is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wankerl Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Gordon's back instead.

Rogers has chosen For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica as his entrance music. Joe Rogers told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

This moves in looking to clinch but Rogers pushes him off.
Rogers shoots in looking for a takedown. This tries to sprawl out of it but Rogers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. This manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
This tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rogers uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from This.
This keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rogers misses with a hook. This ducked under it nicely.
Whack! This lands a heavy head kick that drops Rogers. The ref tackles This to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Rogers was done.
