and Luger counters with a takedown into side control. Mikala avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Luger. Mikala is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mikala gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Luger uses his free foot to push down on Mikala's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mikala. Luger sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Mikala wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Mikala tries to roll but Luger sticks to his back.

He's concentrating on that move too much though and Luger pushes past his half guard into mount! Mikala tries to lock up and control but Luger gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Luger controlling his opponent.

Mikala throws a sloppy head kick and Luger counters with a nice uppercut. Luger cracks Mikala with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Iokua Mikala seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mikala throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Lex Luger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Luger throws a lazy right hand but Mikala sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Mikala walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Luger checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Mikala throws a shot from downtown. Luger moves away and avoids it. Luger shoots in but Mikala avoids the takedown attempt easily. Luger fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mikala manages to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mikala thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Luger if he has to take too many more of those.
Mikala shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Mikala missing with a left hand there. Luger was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Mikala blocks a head kick by Luger.
Crunch! Mikala slams his shin into Luger's torso. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mikala throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Mikala misses with a takedown attempt - Luger sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Luger throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mikala's waist but Mikala gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Luger off to one side. Luger lands with an uppercut that bounces Mikala off the cage and back into rage. Mikala fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lex Luger has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Iokua Mikala. Mikala uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Luger.
Luger lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Luger misses with a hook. Mikala ducked under it nicely. Mikala scores with a jab to the head.
Mikala cracks the inside of Luger's front leg. Luger throws a sloppy head kick and Mikala moves out of range easily. Mikala throws a leg kick but Luger moved away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A lazy left from Luger finds it's target.

Rasputin feints and as Aldo raises his hands in defense, Rasputin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rasputin wants to pass the guard but Aldo is keeping the position. Aldo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rasputin throws and elbow that misses. Aldo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rasputin's guard. Nice move by Aldo! Rasputin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rasputin tries to get out of the position. Rasputin has a closed guard, preventing Aldo from standing up. Rasputin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aldo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rasputin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Aldo passes into half guard.
