0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Perry Van Pelt! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Pelt shoots in looking for a takedown. Steinmayer tries to sprawl out of it but Van Pelt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Steinmayer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Steinmayer looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Van Pelt misses with an attempted mid kick.

Van Pelt shoots in for a takedown but Steinmayer shows good takedown defense. Van Pelt shoots in looking for a takedown. Steinmayer tries to sprawl out of it but Van Pelt keeps driving through. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice leg kick lands there from Steinmayer. Steinmayer tries a head kick but it misses.
Van Pelt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Van Pelt tries for a kimura but Steinmayer is defending well. Steinmayer is trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Pelt is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Steinmayer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Van Pelt trying to control the action but Steinmayer is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Pelt looks gassed! Steinmayer tries to buck Van Pelt off but Van Pelt is having none of it. Van Pelt working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Van Pelt moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Van Pelt tries to move to mount but Steinmayer blocks the move with his legs.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Van Pelt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steinmayer circles away. Steinmayer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Van Pelt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Steinmayer throws a lazy body kick and Van Pelt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Steinmayer won't be happy with that. Steinmayer sneaks out the side door and pushes Van Pelt away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Steinmayer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steinmayer is in close to Van Pelt's body, working some short punches and elbows. Van Pelt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Steinmayer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Steinmayer gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Nice sprawl there from Steinmayer as Van Pelt shoots in. Steinmayer throws a head kick that misses. A thudding body kick lands there by Steinmayer!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Steinmayer goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Steinmayer looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Steinmayer tries to clinch but Van Pelt moves away and Van Pelt counters with a one-two to the body. Steinmayer darts in trying to clinch and Van Pelt counters with a nice double leg into side control. Steinmayer won't be happy with that. Van Pelt tries to move into full mount but can't pass Steinmayer's legs. Van Pelt wants to control but Steinmayer is keeping him busy. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Van Pelt looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Steinmayer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Van Pelt asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steinmayer is not content to let Van Pelt control the position. Steinmayer wants to get back to his feet but Van Pelt drags him back down. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Steinmayer tries to buck Van Pelt off but Van Pelt is having none of it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Van Pelt looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Steinmayer! Van Pelt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Perry Van Pelt dominated that round. That's time! Steinmayer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Van Pelt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Steinmayer as he avoids it easily. Steinmayer thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Van Pelt if he has to take too many more of those.

and Van Pelt counters with a lovely straight right hand! Steinmayer looks to throw a body kick and Van Pelt counters with a big head kick but Steinmayer shrugs it off. Steinmayer misses with a wild combination.

Steinmayer connects with a solid leg kick. Steinmayer tries to land a front kick but Van Pelt steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Steinmayer tries for a takedown but Van Pelt sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Van Pelt wants to take a breather but Steinmayer is having none of it. Van Pelt decides to stand up. Steinmayer falls off balance throwing a combination
and Van Pelt counters with a head kick. That will keep Steinmayer thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Van Pelt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Steinmayer as he jumps to the side. Norris Steinmayer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Perry Van Pelt. and Van Pelt counters with a takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Van Pelt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Van Pelt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! You can see the frustration on Steinmayer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Steinmayer gets back to half guard. Perry Van Pelt has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steinmayer tries to get to full guard but Van Pelt has control of the leg. Steinmayer tries to kick Van Pelt off but Van Pelt keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Steinmayer manages to get to full guard.

Steinmayer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Steinmayer is looking to stand up but Van Pelt isn't so interested in that idea. Van Pelt gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Steinmayer looks to land a combination but Van Pelt avoids it well. Steinmayer wants to clinch and Van Pelt counters with a shoot takedown. Steinmayer fights it but they end up in guard. Van Pelt passes Steinmayer's left leg - he's now in half guard. Van Pelt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Steinmayer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Van Pelt pushes Steinmayer against the cage but Steinmayer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Steinmayer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Steinmayer lands in his opponent's guard. Steinmayer wanted to stand there but Van Pelt had control of the position. Steinmayer stops Van Pelt from standing up. Van Pelt looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steinmayer with a nice head shot there. Steinmayer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Van Pelt on the ground. Van Pelt wants to sweep but no luck. Steinmayer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Van Pelt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Van Pelt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Van Pelt stands and throws Steinmayer's legs to the side, diving into side control. A close second round but Perry Van Pelt will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage. Steinmayer tries to stand and escape but Van Pelt is controlling the position. Van Pelt is trying to maintain the position but Steinmayer is very close to passing his half guard. Steinmayer seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Steinmayer gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Steinmayer wants to clinch but Van Pelt slips to the side and Van Pelt decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Steinmayer's guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Van Pelt trying to control the position from guard on top but Steinmayer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Steinmayer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Van Pelt is controlling him. Van Pelt controls from within his opponent's guard.

Van Pelt moves nicely into side control. Van Pelt remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
And that's the end of the fight! Perry Van Pelt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Van Pelt winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A nice inside leg kick there by Cormier. That's going to slow Osandi down. Cormier throws a series of punches but Osandi moves out of range. Osandi fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Corey Cormier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cormier throws a one two combo.

It looks like CJ Osandi has been cut. Osandi is looking for a sweep. Oh Osandi is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Cormier stands up and we're back to a striking position. Cormier lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Osandi crumples to the floor! Cormier milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jeffers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Campbell's guard. Jeffers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Campbell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Campbell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Campbell tries to land a sweep but no joy. Campbell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Campbell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jeffers's guard. Campbell drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jeffers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Campbell has Jeffers in his guard. Campbell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jeffers jumps back into Campbell's guard. Campbell is pulling down on Jeffers's head to control his posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jeffers showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Campbell had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jeffers is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Campbell Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jeffers's back instead. Jeffers is keeping busy.
Campbell is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Jeffers defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Jeffers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Campbell gets his way!

"I don't think so" says Reed as he avoids it easily. Hayes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Reed circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benedict Hayes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hayes has a takedown stuffed. Horrible takedown by Hayes or perhaps it was just good defense by Reed which made him look bad. Hayes is breathing heavily. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Kane looks to throw the jab but Hardcastle is out of range.

Some wild striking there from Kane.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Suraski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kalakaua moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Suraski lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kalakaua has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kalakaua and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Suraski avoids the head kick by Kalakaua.
Oooh a lovely combination from Suraski sends Kalakaua down but not out. Suraski dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Humu Kalakaua has been cut. Suraski has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Kalakaua is still on wobbly legs! Can Suraski finish him? Suraski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A combination from Suraski does no damage. Suraski throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Suraski tries to bum rush Kalakaua with a series of wild strikes but Kalakaua uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Suraski.
Kalakaua looks gassed! This has been an exciting period of action! Suraski throws an overhand right that has Kalakaua reeling! Suraski follows up with a more punches and Kalakaua is out cold! This one is all over!
