The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sortsen checks a low kick from Smith. Smith looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. A nice combination there by Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Okabe looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Willis! Okabe misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Portage bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Richards's guard. Portage wants to control from the top but Richards keeps moving. Portage stopping the sweep attempt from Richards. Richards is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Portage is controlling him. That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Portage postures up and lands a big shot to Richards's brow. Portage passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Richards is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Portage is trying to control. Richards wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Richards trying to hold on to Portage's head to control him but Portage postures up.
Richards is staying active underneath Portage, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Richards landing small, sideways elbows. Richards is trying to stand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Richards is refusing to be controlled, as Portage sits in half guard. Portage moves nicely into side control. Richards tries to control but Portage manages to take his back. Richards is trapped and Portage is scoring with shots to the head and body. Richards is trying to break free.

Gilbert Hernandez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Johnson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Hernandez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Johnson won't be happy with that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hernandez tries to stand but Johnson is controlling his head. Hernandez wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Hernandez wants to stand but Johnson has his arm trapped.

Hernandez wants to control for a moment but Johnson uses the opportunity to move back to half guard. Hernandez is trying to control. Johnson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hernandez is looking to advance position but Johnson won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hernandez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Hernandez eventually gives up the hold. Hernandez decides to stand up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Johnson throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hernandez counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Johnson! Hernandez content just to control the position here. Johnson regains half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Gilbert Hernandez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hernandez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angelo misses with a takedown attempt and Ryder counters with a takedown into side control. The strikes coming from Ryder are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Ryder cracks Angelo with an elbow. That is naaassty. Ryder misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Ryder lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Angelo takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
