2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Acevedo! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McPheters swats away the attempt to clinch by Acevedo. Acevedo looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! McPheters closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. McPheters gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Chris McPheters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Acevedo tries to close the distance and clinch but McPheters swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. McPheters darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. McPheters missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McPheters takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Acevedo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McPheters content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. McPheters working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. McPheters lands with a punch from half guard. McPheters looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. McPheters is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Acevedo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McPheters. McPheters winds up and cracks Acevedo with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Acevedo on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McPheters working over Acevedo with some ground and pound. Acevedo looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. McPheters winds up and cracks Acevedo with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Acevedo is rocked! McPheters has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McPheters lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Acevedo quite badly. Acevedo pulls McPheters in close trying to recover. McPheters postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Acevedo on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Acevedo doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason gets caught flat footed, as Maycock shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Mason looks gassed! Maycock passes into half guard. Maycock with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Mason really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maycock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Maycock is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mason sees it coming and defends easily. Maycock has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Maycock is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Maycock!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. Fudeu is looking to break free of the clinch but Hebert has double underhooks. Hebert putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Fudeu in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Hebert comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Hebert utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Hebert connects with a nasty looking knee right to Fudeu's face.
Fudeu has Hebert pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hebert manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Fudeu is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hebert gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hebert works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Hebert working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Fudeu has his foot on Hebert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hebert works his way back into a safe position though. Fudeu is breathing heavily. Hebert is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hebert thumps Fudeu with a low kick. Hebert darts in and clinches Fudeu up against the cage. Hebert lands a left hand.

Hebert controlling the action here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

And that's the end of the fight! Sam Hebert comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Hebert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shield tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Soni manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Shield tries to clinch but Soni is having none of it. Soni avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Soni lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Shield at a distance.
Shield closes the distance but Soni moves to the side and Soni counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Tanishk Soni is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Soni lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Soni looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Shield! Shield has given up his back here. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hong's guard. Africanus won't allow Hong to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hong can do anything to dispel that myth. Africanus controls from within his opponent's guard.
