The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with the takedown
and Gracie counters with a straight right hand.
Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Jones tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Jones's guard.
Gracie advances position into side control!

Gracie cracks Jones with an elbow. That is naaassty.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Gracie lands a big shot there that rocks Jones but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Gracie fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Jones tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gracie pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Gracie jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gracie wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Gracie scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jones to see if he's OK.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jones takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Gracie has an Americana. Jones didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Gracie is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Gracie hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
