Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danes De Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Silva's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Like a G6. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mauricio Rua was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danes De Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mauricio Rua! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rua takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Rua swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and De Silva counters with a right hand to the body. De Silva lands a nice shot to the body.
Rua walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Danes De Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rua shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. De Silva comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. De Silva lands with a shot to the body. Rua ducks right into an uppercut from De Silva. Rua looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. De Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. De Silva lands a jab to the nose. Rua drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. De Silva throws a combination. Rua tries to block but a couple of punches get through. De Silva feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Ruas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
That's one minute gone in the round. De Silva dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Rua looks gassed! Rua misses with a lunging right hand
and De Silva counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. De Silva sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. De Silva is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. De Silva swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Rua. Rua takes one to the chin there. A shot to the liver by De Silva. Beautiful body shot. De Silva throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rua on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. De Silva jabs at Rua's body. De Silva lands with a straight right. Rua didn't see that one coming. Rua tries to move into range but De Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Rua takes a shot right to the bread basket.
That's two minutes gone in the round. De Silva lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

De Silva pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Rua back to the cage. De Silva follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Rua is still on wobbly legs! Can De Silva finish him? Rua walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Rua takes a shot right to the bread basket. Rua seems to have recovered his senses. De Silva lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

That's four minutes gone in the round. De Silva lands with a nice body punch. De Silva lands a head shot. De Silva scores with a jab. De Silva connects with a body shot. De Silva cracks Rua with a right hand to the side of the head. Rua takes one on the chin but seems OK.

De Silva lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Rua sprawling to the canvas. De Silva follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Rua hang on? De Silva wants to pass to mount but Rua is defending the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! De Silva wants to work for an arm triangle but Rua is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Rua takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. De Silva is working the combinations to good effect here. Rua is breathing heavily. De Silva throws a combination. Rua tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

A punch lands to the side of Rua 's head but he takes it in his stride. De Silva scores with a sloppy right hand. Rua should have avoided that one. De Silva fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. De Silva lands a body shot.
De Silva scores with a one two! Rua had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. De Silva throws out a powerful jab. De Silva connects with a jab. Nice cross by De Silva. Rua closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rua takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Danes De Silva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. De Silva bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Rua! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Rua takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Mauricio Rua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Good shot there by De Silva. De Silva lands a two punch combo.
And that's the end of the fight! Danes De Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well De Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Bishop shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Escobar counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Escobar controlling the action here. Escobar scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bishop's guard. Bishop is staying active underneath Escobar, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Bishop is not content to let Escobar control the position. Bishop tries to bench press Escobar off him but Escobar keeps the position. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Bishop taking punishment in the form of punches.
Escobar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Escobar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Escobar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escobar scores with punches from side control. Escobar is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bishop is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Escobar lands a decent elbow from side control. Bishop tries to buck Escobar off but Escobar is having none of it. Escobar postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bishop is trying to get back to half guard. A lull in the action here. Escobar trying to control the action but Bishop is working from the bottom. Bishop manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pablo Escobar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Bishop throws a right and a left that Escobar avoids nicely. Bishop tries for a takedown but Escobar circles away easily and Escobar counters with a shoot takedown. Bishop fights it but they end up in guard. Escobar trying to control the position from guard on top but Bishop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bishop bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Escobar's guard. Bishop tries to free his leg and advance position but Escobar is retaining full guard. Bishop throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Escobar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escobar looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bishop in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Escobar lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bishop! Bishop tries to lock up and control but Escobar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Escobar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Escobar landing strikes, looking to finish!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Escobar trying to control but he's not successful this time. Escobar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bishop kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Bishop is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Pablo Escobar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Escobar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riech doesn't succeed with the takedown and Phillips connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Riech looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Riech throws a left and a right that both miss
and Phillips counters with a stiff right hand. Phillips wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Phillips lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Phillips gets in close and instigates a clinch. Phillips with a knee to the head.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Po looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Po lands with a kick to the temple. Kerr shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
It looks like Mark Kerr has been cut. Po tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Kerr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Tong Po has been cut. Po closes the distance looking to clinch letting Kerr counter with a right hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Po gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Kerr slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kerr postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Kerr sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kerr drops back looking for a leg! Po is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Po manages to kick Kerr off! Kerr jumps back into Po's guard. Kerr is pushing down on Po's leg trying to pass to half guard. Po is fighting to maintain full guard but Kerr has managed to sneak the leg through. Kerr prevents Po from standing back up.

Kerr looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Po with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kerr working the head and body with strikes. Kerr uses his free foot to push down on Po's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Po. Kerr landing strikes from the mount. Kerr is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Po can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
That has opened up Tong Po's cut even more. Po looks gassed! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! BOOM! Kerr connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The cut above Tong Po's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Kerr is landing with some decent strikes but Po is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Tong Po's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Beeturasa prevents Perote from getting back to his feet. Beeturasa content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Beeturasa won't allow Perote to get back to his feet. Beeturasa advances to half guard. Perote looks like he's trying to stand up.
Perote is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Perote is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Beeturasa scores with a couple of nice shots. Perote is trying to stand up here but Beeturasa is controlling him well.
