GNP throws a leg kick that is checked
and Burgundy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

letting Burgundy counter with a right hand.

Burgundy sends GNP crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Burgundy is motioning to the referee to let GNP up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

GNP is rocked!
GNP takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
GNP is still on wobbly legs! Can Burgundy finish him?
GNP throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Burgundy counters with a deadly accurate combination that rocks GNP badly! He tries to strike back but Burgundy puts an end to that with another precision combo that knocks GNP out cold! Oh man, GNP will never hear the end of this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White tries to score a power double leg takedown but Melebo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten White somewhat.
White takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Eric White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
White closes the distance but Melebo moves to the side
and Melebo counters with a nice uppercut.

White gets the takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
White content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Melebo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It looks like Anupo Anubis has been cut.
Anubis shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shamrock but Shamrock pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Shamrock will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Shamrock throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Anubis.

Anubis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shamrock looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Anubis throws a strike aimed at the side of Shamrock's head but Shamrock avoids it well.
Shamrock is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Anubis has just dragged him back down to the mat.

You get the feeling that Shamrock really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Anubis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shamrock parries the strikes from Anubis easily there. Anubis is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Shamrock to escape.

Anubis dives in and grabs Shamrock's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shamrock pushes down on Anubis's head and hops out.
Anubis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Shamrock avoids it really well and circles away.
