The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shiro pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Birch throwing shots but missing, from side control.

Birch wants to control but Shiro is keeping him busy.
Shiro is trying to escape the position but Birch is controlling the position.

Birch is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Shiro will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Birch decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Shiro moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Shiro fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Birch manages to avoid it.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Shiro lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Birch has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Birch and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Shiro does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Birch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

and Birch counters with a big head kick but Shiro shrugs it off.

Birch closes the distance and clinches up with Shiro, looking for a takedown. Birch pushes Shiro against the cage but Shiro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Zann is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Voices. Dan Sims had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 207.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.
