Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Eduardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Charles Skarbowsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eduardo comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Wayne - A Milli. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jean Charles Skarbowsky!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eduardo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Skarbowsky as he jumps to the side.
Eduardo shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Skarbowsky sprawls well. Skarbowsky wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Eduardo gets slowly back to his feet.
Eduardo shoots for a takedown but Skarbowsky saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Eduardo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Eduardo shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Eduardo showed some decent athleticism there.
Eduardo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Skarbowsky does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Skarbowsky can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skarbowsky is staying active underneath Eduardo, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Xavier Eduardo.

Skarbowsky drives through and clinches with Eduardo against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Eduardo goes for a takedown attempt but Skarbowsky pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Oooooh!!! Skarbowsky has knocked Eduardo down with a huge combo! Skarbowsky steps away and waves a wobbly Eduardo back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Eduardo is rocked!

It looks like Xavier Eduardo has been cut.
Skarbowsky misses with a wild combination.
Oh Eduardo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
No luck for Eduardo with that takedown attempt.
Eduardo seems to have got his legs back now.
Skarbowsky feints and then cracks Eduardo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Eduardo down.
Eduardo is breathing heavily.

Skarbowsky lands a big uppercut and Eduardo crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Eduardo looks OK. Skarbowsky waves Eduardo back to his feet!
Skarbowsky feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Eduardo crashing to the mat! This one is all over!

Jiujiteiro shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Billy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Billy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jiujiteiro manages to get himself to full guard.
Billy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jiujiteiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Billy has gone for a leg lock! Jiujiteiro slips out almost immediately though and dives into Billy's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Roddick stuffs the takedown attempt from Kaio. Kaio gets slowly back to his feet.
Kaio avoids a punch combination nicely.

Roddick throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kaio tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Roddick is in Kaio's guard.

Kaio will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
