The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stringer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Stringer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
AlShika throws a head kick that misses. AlShika misses with a series of wild punches.
AlShika moves out of range of the strikes. Stringer lands a slapping body shot.
Stringer lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Stringer.
AlShika is rocked! AlShika keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
AlShika is still on wobbly legs! Can Stringer finish him? AlShika lands a jab to the head.
AlShika seems to have recovered his senses. A chopping leg kick lands by AlShika. Stringer falls off balance throwing a combination
and AlShika counters with a body kick. Stringer digs a good body shot into AlShika's ribs. Stringer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

AlShika takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Stringer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from AlShika - the referee stops the clock and Stringer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says AlShika. Stringer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Stringer throws a series of punches but AlShika avoids them all with ease. AlShika lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stringer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
A good leg kick by AlShika. Stringer is breathing heavily. Stringer throws a big shot that misses. Stringer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stringer is looking to wear down AlShika with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. A bone on bone clash there as AlShika blocks the leg kick.

Stringer throws a big shot that misses. Stringer on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by AlShika. AlShika obviously looking to wear him down.
Avon Stringer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. AlShika throws a right and a left that Stringer avoids nicely. AlShika feints and then cracks Stringer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Stringer down. Stringer blocks a head kick by AlShika.
Stringer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but AlShika moves out of range and avoids them all easily. AlShika throws a nice outside leg kick. AlShika throws a sloppy head kick and Stringer moves out of range easily. AlShika moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Stringer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Stringer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Stringer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but AlShika manages to avoid it. AlShika uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Stringer.
Stringer moves out of range of the leg kick from AlShika. Stringer throws a combination that misses and AlShika counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Stringer cracks AlShika with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Stringer scores with a sloppy right hand. AlShika should have avoided that one. Stringer misses with a jab, cross combination.

Good leg kick by AlShika there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
AlShika works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. AlShika showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Stringer.

Stringer misses with a left hand and AlShika makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Stringer really felt that one! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! AlShika takes the fight into the clinch. AlShika prevents Stringer from breaking the clinch. Stringer can't break the clinch.

AlShika connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. AlShika pivots, looking for a leg kick but Stringer is out of range and AlShika settles back down. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stringer throws an overhand right that has AlShika reeling! Stringer follows up with a more punches and AlShika is out cold! This one is all over!

Staley looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Staley moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Staley looking for a guillotine here but Gari defends easily.

Gari has his hands clasped together but Staley extends an breaks Gari's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Staley.

Burger looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Nice takedown defense from Ferreira. No joy for Burger on that attempt. Burger really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Burger throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ferreira. Sam Burger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burger rushes Ferreira and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Ferreira pulls guard successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ferreira seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ferreira is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ferreira trying to pass the guard but Burger defending well. Still in half guard, Ferreira seems content to control. Let's hope that Ferreira has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Daniel Ferreira just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ferreira decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ferreira perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Ferreira seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Ferreira takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Burger pushes Ferreira off but Ferreira dives into side control.

The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Ferreira looking to finish Burger with some ground and pound. This is bad for Burger! BOOM! Ferreira connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Ferreira has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Burger's face.

Ferreira working Burger over with strikes. Ferreira works his way into side control. Burger being controlled for a moment. Burger bucks up and tries to throw Ferreira off but instead Ferreira has got his back!

Ferreira really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Burger. Burger trying to get back to his feet but Ferreira is in full control for now. Burger trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Ferreira cracks Burger with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Burger from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

That's seven minutes gone in the round. Ferreira lands strikes to the head. Ferreira is punishing Burger with strikes - can he finish him?! Burger is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Burger holding both Ferreira 's hands and preventing any damage. Well, with Ferreira on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Burger is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Ferreira throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Burger!
Ferreira not allowing Burger to control his hands. Burger is trapped and Ferreira is scoring with shots to the head and body. Burger is trying to get back to his feet but Ferreira has full control of the position and if anything, Burger has just worked his way into a worse spot. Ferreira controlling the position well here. Burger rolled but Ferreira kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ferreira is persistently looking for the submission but Burger is defending it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Butler stands up from Grepp's guard - Butler perhaps looking for a knockout. Butler scoring well with a low kick there.
Butler throws an uppercut from hell that sends Grepp clean off his feet! He's out cold! Butler stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.

He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Newton's guard. Newton wants to sweep here but Calzattrounewis controlling him for the moment. Calzattrounewis stands up over Newton, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Calzattrounewis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Newton works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Calzattrounewis missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Newton keeping moving, preventing Calzattrounewis from controlling successfully. Calzattrounewis tries to stand but Newton is controlling from the bottom. Calzattrounewis throwing strikes from guard but Newton blocks nicely.

Calzattrounewis lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Calzattrounewis cracks Newton with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Calzattrounewis has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Newton to stand back up!

Oh Newton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Newton drops his hands momentarily. Calzattrounewis doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Newton staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Newton doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
