Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Wallace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Baxter! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Wallace misses. Wallace misses with a hook. Baxter ducked under it nicely. Baxter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wallace as he avoids it easily. Wallace misses with a two punch combination.
Baxter moves away from the strike by Wallace. Wallace tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Baxter feints and as Wallace raises his hands in defense, Baxter changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wallace is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Baxter trying to control but Wallace is working from the bottom. Wallace is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Baxter is controlling him. Wallace keeping moving, preventing Baxter from controlling successfully. Wallace wants to get back to his feet but Baxter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baxter content to stall in guard here. Baxter trying to control but Wallace is working from the bottom.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wallace throws a head kick that misses. Baxter needs to keep his hands up - Wallace had a free shot at his head there. Wallace throws the left hand but Baxter avoids the punch easily. Josh Wallace is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Baxter takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Baxter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wallace. Josh Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Baxter shoots for a double leg takedown but Wallace sprawls well. He's pushed Baxter's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Baxter tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Baxter is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Wallace. Wallace misses with a two punch combination.
Wallace is breathing heavily. Baxter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wallace tries to avoid it but Baxter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wallace to the ground. Wallace escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Josh Wallace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Baxter. Wallace swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wallace thuds his shin into the meat of Baxter's side. Wallace misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Baxter looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Wallace lands a nice looking body kick. Baxter shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wallace throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Baxter. A head kick misses from Wallace. Wallace lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Wallace. Wallace throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Baxter sees it coming and avoids it easily. Baxter fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wallace, pushing him back against the cage. Baxter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wallace gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Wallace pressing his opponent against the cage. Baxter comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Baxter manages to break the clinch.
Baxter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wallace to the mat! Wallace manages to get full guard. Baxter tries to free his leg and advance position but Wallace is retaining full guard. Baxter stops Wallace from standing up. Wallace managing to control the position. Baxter pushing down on Wallace's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Wallace is trying to stand back up but Baxter is controlling him
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace has one foot on Baxter's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Wallace scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Baxter closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee asks Baxter politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Baxter prefers to stall for the moment though. Wallace bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Wallace throws an overhand right that lands on Baxter's shoulder, as Baxter tries to avoid the shot. Baxter defending well as Wallace loads up on a big left hand. Baxter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wallace is fending him off so far but Baxter persists. Nope, Wallace circles away and we're back to standing. Wallace is looking to clinch. Baxter avoids the head kick by Wallace.
Wallace lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Baxter backs up against the cage.
A jab from Wallace misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wallace is looking to clinch but Baxter is avoiding it.
Baxter moves in looking to clinch but Wallace pushes him off. Baxter decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Baxter performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Wallace is trying to stand.

That was a close round but I would say that Josh Wallace will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Baxter looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Wallace pushes Baxter off and scrambles back to his feet.
Baxter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Wallace but Wallace pushes him off and we're back to square one. No luck for Baxter with that takedown attempt. Baxter drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Baxter tries to clinch there but Wallace circles away.
Wallace thows a body shot but no joy. Wallace throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Baxter stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Wallace buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Baxter swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wallace clinches. Wallace breaks from the clinch.
Wallace throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Baxter counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wallace is throwing a few token shots, despite Baxter being in side control. Wallace wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baxter working away. Adam Baxter has got the better of the ground game so far. Wallace throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Baxter blocks the body kick.

Baxter tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Baxter slips a jab and a cross from Wallace.
Wallace lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Nice takedown defense from Wallace. No joy for Baxter on that attempt. Wallace misses with a left hand and Baxter counters with a nice body kick. Wallace throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Wallace fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Baxter is out of range. Nice body kick there by Wallace. A low kick from Wallace misses and Baxter counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Wallace tries to break the clinch but Baxter is controlling the position. Wallace using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Baxter has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Wallace connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Wallace lands a nice leg kick that just misses Baxter's sensitive parts. A decent looking cross lands there for Wallace. Josh Wallace is winning the standup battle so far. Wallace fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Baxter on the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wallace misses with a double jab
and Baxter counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Wallace! Wallace swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Wallace is squirming around, avoiding Baxter's attempts to control the action. You get the feeling that Wallace really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Baxter is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wallace is surviving well by controlling Baxter's body position as best he can. Baxter connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baxter controlling from mount. Wallace swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Baxter wants to control the pace but Wallace is squirming around nicely. Wallace is looking to get to half guard. Baxter with good strikes from the mount here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Baxter trying to control but Wallace is having none of it. Wallace is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Wallace is rocked! Baxter controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Oh Wallace is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wallace is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Baxter dives into side control.
Baxter passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Wallace! Wallace seems to have got his legs back now. Baxter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baxter goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Wallace is on top in guard.
Wallace stands up and waves to Baxter to follow him. Wallace chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Wallace.
Wallace cracks Baxter with a good jab. Baxter takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Baxter misses with the combination.
Wallace bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Baxter's head backwards. Baxter ducks under a wild hook from Wallace. Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Baxter! Wallace is out on his feet! Baxter rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Wallace is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Wallace is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Asebedo blocking the ground and pound. SilvA looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Asebedo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for SilvA on the ground. SilvA throws some wild stikes that Asebedo manages to avoid easily.

It looks like Royce SilvA has been cut. Asebedo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck SilvA on the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Asebedo dances in with a quick combination. SilvA is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Asebedo snaps SilvA's head back. SilvA stumbles backwards against the cage. Asebedo steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with SilvA's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. SilvA just didn't come prepared.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. You can see the frustration on Davis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Davis is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Silva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Silva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! Silva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Davis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jesse James had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. This should be a great matchup!

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Traps Mcgee! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
James looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. James ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mcgee moves away. James connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Jesse James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. James blocks the body kick.
James fails with the takedown. James throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Mcgee drives through and clinches with James against the cage.
Mcgee wants the takedown. James is fighting it off but Mcgee persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in James's guard against the cage. James wants to sweep but no luck. Mcgee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard. James looking for a guillotine here but Mcgee defends easily.

He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, James has managed to free his arm - good work. Mcgee is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
James is looking for a sweep. Mcgee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Mcgee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. James looking for a sweep. Not yet James, not yet. Mcgee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. James lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mcgee! Mcgee wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by James.
James avoids the attempt from Mcgee to control. Mcgee tries to get back to half guard but can't. Mcgee gets back to half guard. Mcgee looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Mcgee wants to improve his position but James is controlling well.
Mcgee is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mcgee slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. James trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James postures up in Mcgee's guard and throws a big left but Mcgee blocks it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. James misses with a takedown and Mcgee counters with a nice double leg into guard. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jesse James. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mcgee cracks James with a solid left hand. Mcgee drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Mcgee off! Mcgee jumps back into James's guard. Mcgee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mcgee throws a big right hand that misses. Mcgee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as James works some decent striking defense from the bottom. James working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. James looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Mcgee tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard. Mcgee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mcgee misses with a wild body shot. Mcgee lands with a nice combination. James backs away looking to recover. Mcgee scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Mcgee takes the fight into the clinch. James wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

James is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Mcgee gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Mcgee breaks from the clinch.
Mcgee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mcgee controls from within his opponent's guard. James had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mcgee is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. James Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mcgee's back instead. Mcgee is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get James off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mcgee trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. James looking for the choke but no joy. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. James controlling well, preventing Mcgee from escaping the position.
Mcgee manages to reverse the position and now he's in James's guard. Nice work there by Mcgee.

Traps Mcgee dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Mcgee. James is looking to regain half guard here but Mcgee keeps moving and retains side control. Mcgee has worked his way into a potential kimura here. James is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mcgee yanks on the arm and James is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mcgee.
