0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Bob! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brett Eibner! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Matheus Silva and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Eibner drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Eibner controlling from side mount. Eibner creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Eibner working away. Bob is trying to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bob is trying to control Eibner's posture but Eibner avoids it. The strikes coming from Eibner are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Eibner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Eibner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bob tries to buck Eibner off but Eibner is having none of it. Eibner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bob keeps working. Eibner is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bob knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bob ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Eibner moves away. The fight stays on the outside here - Eibner looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Bob looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Eibner throws a leg kick that is checked and Bob counters with a body kick that stops Eibner in his tracks momentarily. A low kick from Eibner is predictable there and Bob counters with a stiff right hand. A decent looking body kick lands there for Eibner. Eibner fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bob fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Eibner manages to avoid it. Bob misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bob tests Eibner's chin there with a solid looking shot. Eibner blocks a head kick by Bob.
A combination from Bob does no damage. Bob is breathing heavily. Bob connects with a high kick. Bob throws a head kick that Eibner semi-blocks.

Bob throws a sloppy head kick and Eibner moves out of range easily. Eibner tries to clinch up. Bob throws a body kick that misses. John Bob dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bob throws a jab when Eibner was well out of range. Bob throws the kick towards the body but Eibner avoids it. Eibner misses with a few strikes there.
Bob lands with a kick to the temple. Eibner shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Bob throws a sloppy head kick and Eibner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bob thinking. John Bob is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Eibner swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bob counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A combination from Bob does no damage. Eibner shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Eibner was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Eibner in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bob is rocked! Eibner has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Bob is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Muerte keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wall fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Muerte looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Muerte is looking to clinch. Muerte doesn't manage to clinch there - Wall circles away.
Wall moves into range and clinches up with Muerte. Wall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Muerte just stands there and leans against the cage. Wall is trying to break the clinch but Muerte has him pressed against the cage. Muerte stops a takedown attempt from Wall.
Thiago Muerte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Wall. Wall can't break the clinch.

Wall can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wall tries to hold on but Muerte pushes him away. Wall is desperately trying to improve his position but Muerte has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wall has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Muerte is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wall has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Phart is trying to trip Vernos. He has hold of a leg but Vernos is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Phart persists though and gets the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vernos keeping moving, preventing Phart from controlling successfully. Vernos is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Phart with a flurry of punches that miss. Vernos keeping full guard, as Phart tries to pass. Vernos has a closed guard, preventing Phart from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vernos wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Phart is now in half guard. Phart is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Vernos! Vernos is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Phart misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Phart looks gassed! Phart is trying to control the position but Vernos postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Phart throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vernos escapes and throws Phart's legs to the side, diving into side control! Vernos moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Phart wants to control but Vernos postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phart working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Phart is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Vernos has escaped the position, nice work there. Phart is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vernos is looking for a sweep. You can see the frustration on Vernos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Phart creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Vernos sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Phart circles away from the clinch attempt and Phart counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Phartis looking to pass into half guard but Vernos pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Vernos is in guard. Vernos advances to half guard. Phart taking some punishment here, with Vernos in his half guard. Vernos tries to pass the half guard into mount. Phart knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Nicely done. Phart comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Phart gets a trip takedown into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vernos keeps control of the position for the meantime. Phart wants to pass to mount but Vernos is defending the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Vernos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Phart is working away from the top position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Oohlong Phart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mckenzie looks for a takedown but Trapp sprawls well. Trapp throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A punch lands to the side of Mckenzie 's head but he takes it in his stride. Trapp lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Mckenzie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mckenzie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Trapp keeping full guard, as Mckenzie tries to pass. Trapp is trying to control the position but Mckenzie postures up. Mckenzie working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Trapp's head.

Nice strikes from Mckenzie there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! That's one minute gone in the round. Trapp has hold of Mckenzie's hands but Mckenzie slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Mckenzie is nestled in close to Trapp, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Mckenzie working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
