Vamp keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Groos looks for a takedown but Vamp sprawls well.
Vamp works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Vamp looks to land a combination but Groos avoids it well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Varsi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Varsi fails to land the takedown.
Gotti closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Varsi is looking for a sweep.
Varsi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gotti is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Varsi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Gotti is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Varsi has escaped the position, nice work there.
Varsi tries to buck Gotti off but Gotti is having none of it.

Varsi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Varsi tries to roll over but Gotti keeps him under control.

Gotti is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Varsi defends it well.
Gotti is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Varsi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gotti.
Varsi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Varsi scores with a nice shot.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Varsi pushes Gotti off and gets back to his feet.
Varsi lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Varsi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Gotti's head.
Varsi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Varsi throws a nice looking combination but Gotti bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gotti shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gotti is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Varsi is just riding it out for now. Gotti eventually gives up the hold.
Varsi is trying to maintain the position but Gotti is very close to passing his half guard.

Gotti is working for a submission of some sort.
Gotti is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Varsi has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gotti is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Varsi!
Gotti won't let Varsi get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Gotti moves to back control.
Varsi defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Gotti's arms.
Varsi turns into Gotti and is now in his guard.
Gotti bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Varsi's guard.
Gotti is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
Gotti drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gotti as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Varsi screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gotti! Nice submission victory there!
