 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silmu lands a nice shot to the body.
Costa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Silmu can pounce on him.
Silmu throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Costa stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Silmu follows into mount!
 Costa is rocked! Silmu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Costa on the ground. Costa tries to reverse the position but Silmu maintains control. Costa is still in real trouble! Can Silmu finish him? Costa wants to hold on but Silmu pushes him away. Costa is working to get back to half guard.
Costa looks gassed! Silmu looking to control and managing it successfully. Costa seems to have recovered his senses. Costa bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Costa throws a big right hand that misses. Costa with a flurry of punches that miss. Costa trying to control but Silmu is working from the bottom.

 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Silmu tries a head kick but it misses.
Costa fails in his attempt to clinch. Costa showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silmu.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Costa doesn't manage to clinch there - Silmu circles away.
Costa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silmu sprawls well initially but Costa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Silmu is defending against the submission attempts here by Costa.
Costa throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Costa thows a huge punch but Silmu dodges it nicely.
Costa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Costa stands up and beckons Silmu to join him on the feet. Costa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Costa fails to land with a series of punches.

Costa trying to control the position from guard on top but Silmu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Costa tries to free his leg and advance position but Silmu is retaining full guard. Silmu on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Silmu tries to get out of the position. Costa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Costa throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Silmu preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Costa trying to control but Silmu is working from the bottom. Costa tries to free his leg and advance position but Silmu is retaining full guard.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Silmu keeps the fight on the outside.
Costa scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Costa is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Silmu looks calm but he's in trouble here. Costa gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Silmu is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Costa lets go of the hold and Silmu can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Mack drives through and clinches with Gonzaga against the cage.
Gonzaga could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Gonzaga is breathing heavily.
Mack breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mack throws a leg kick which misses Gonzaga's front leg but catches the back leg as Gonzaga tries to avoid it. Mack throws a head kick but Gonzaga moves out of range.
Mack tries to close the distance and clinch but Gonzaga swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gonzaga has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Mack finds it's way round the side to connect with Gonzaga's head.
 Gary Gonzaga's cut is getting worse. Mack tries to clinch but Gonzaga is having none of it. Gonzaga fails miserably with a takedown attempt. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Mack.

Bright closes the distance and clinches. Paakkanen has had enough of the clinch but Bright keeps him there for the moment. Paakkanen wants to get back to striking at distance but Bright won't allow it.
Bright drops down looking for an ankle pick but Paakkanen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Paakkanen throws a right and a left that Bright avoids nicely. Both fighters circling a little - Paakkanen finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Bright walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Paakkanen lands with a nice body punch. Paakkanen jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Metuselah Paakkanen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Paakkanen scores with a one two! Bright had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Bright rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Paakkanen moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Paakkanen lands a jab-cross combination. Paakkanen seems to have got his legs back now. Bright pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Paakkanen scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Paakkanen misses with a head kick.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Paakkanen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Bright postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Paakkanen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bright is one step ahead there.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paakkanen lands with a slapping head kick. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bright avoids a punch combination nicely.

That was a close second round but I would say that Metuselah Paakkanen will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Metuselah Paakkanen's cut. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
