0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aleksandrovich Yemelyanenko! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jenkins fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Yemelyanenko, pushing him back against the ropes. Yemelyanenko is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Jenkins gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jenkins looking to stall.
Jenkins is trying to trip Yemelyanenko. He has hold of a leg but Yemelyanenko is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Jenkins persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Jenkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yemelyanenko swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jenkins throws a strike but Yemelyanenko rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Jenkins wants to sweep here but Yemelyanenko controlling him for the moment. Yemelyanenko avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jenkins has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yemelyanenko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Jenkins manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yemelyanenko manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jenkins passes into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Jenkins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Yemelyanenko gets back to full guard.
Jenkins works a leg free and moves into half guard. Yemelyanenko manages to get to full guard.
Yemelyanenko controls Jenkins momentarily but Jenkins frees himself. Yemelyanenko looks gassed! Yemelyanenko being controlled here, momentarily. Yemelyanenko is trying to control the position but Jenkins postures up. Jenkins pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Yemelyanenko is keeping the position for now. Yemelyanenko wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jenkins trying to control the position from guard on top but Yemelyanenko is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yemelyanenko wants to stand and escape but Jenkins is having none of it. Yemelyanenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jenkins is one step ahead there.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A combination from Jenkins does no damage. Yemelyanenko tries to clinch but Jenkins moves out of range. Jenkins shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Jenkins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Jenkins postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Yemelyanenko gets back to half guard. Yemelyanenko pushes Jenkins off looking to stand but Jenkins dives back in and keeps control.
Jenkins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yemelyanenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
It looks like Aleksandrovich Yemelyanenko has been cut. Jenkins stops Yemelyanenko from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jenkins wants to take a breather but Yemelyanenko is having none of it. Yemelyanenko avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jenkins. Yemelyanenko trying to hold on to Jenkins's head to control him but Jenkins postures up.
Jenkins is trying to control the action in half guard but Yemelyanenko is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Yemelyanenko wants to control but Jenkins is keeping busy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Jenkins looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Yemelyanenko is refusing to be controlled, as Jenkins sits in half guard. Jenkins seems to be working for a kimura but Yemelyanenko defends the submission attempt. Jenkins moves into full mount! Yemelyanenko won't be happy about that! Yemelyanenko tries to reverse the position but Jenkins maintains control. Yemelyanenko is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Yemelyanenko swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jenkins lands a big shot there that rocks Yemelyanenko but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jenkins prevents Yemelyanenko from getting the reversal. Jenkins with shots to the head and body - Yemelyanenko looks very uncomfortable down there. Jenkins working for a guillotine from mount but Yemelyanenko is in no mood to give up. Jenkins has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Jenkins lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Yemelyanenko hang on? Yemelyanenko tries to buck Jenkins off but he can't manage it. Yemelyanenko can't escape the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jenkins throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Yemelyanenko because Jenkins loaded up on that one. Yemelyanenko working to try and regain half guard.

Jenkins regains half guard. Yemelyanenko should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Jenkins is looking to escape. Jenkins tries to roll over but Yemelyanenko keeps him under control. Yemelyanenko throwing shots but Jenkins is blocking nicely. Jenkins moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Jenkins wants to stand and escape but Yemelyanenko is having none of it. Yemelyanenko stands up and waves to Jenkins to follow him. Nice body punch from Yemelyanenko. Yemelyanenko is breathing heavily. Jenkins clinches but Yemelyanenko breaks the clinch and Yemelyanenko counters with a series of strikes. Jenkins will be more careful next time no doubt. Jenkins dances in with a quick combination. Yemelyanenko is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Jenkins snaps Yemelyanenko's head back. Yemelyanenko stumbles backwards against the ropes. Jenkins steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Yemelyanenko's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Yemelyanenko just didn't come prepared.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belfort avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Orlov takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Belfort throws a head kick that misses. Orlov throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Belfort fails in his attempt to clinch. Orlov wants to clinch. Belfort looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Orlov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Belfort is working away from the top position though. Belfort controlling the action here. Belfort is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Orlov has managed to free his arm - good work. Orlov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Belfort stands up and we're back to a striking position. Orlov takes the fight into the clinch. Orlov drags the fight down to the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belfort wants to stand but Orlov has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Belfort preventing the sweep. Orlov is trying to control the position but Belfort postures up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Orlov is on top in guard.

Orlov won't allow Belfort to get back to his feet. Belfort bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Orlov's guard. Belfort tries to free his leg and advance position but Orlov is retaining full guard. Belfort trying to control but Orlov is working from the bottom. Belfort throws a big right hand that misses. "Ole!" shouts Villa as he jumps to the side. Villa fails in his attempt to clinch. Villa uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Hussein swats away the attempt to clinch by Villa. Hussein tries to clinch up but Villa circles away and keeps his distance.

Hussein scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Villa doesn't seem bothered though. Villa misses with a jab, cross combination.
