0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, snap pop! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Gilmore, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
pop looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Gilmore takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
pop tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Gilmore looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! pop can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gilmore controls the pace. Gilmore pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. pop is keeping the position for now. Gilmore is working hard here to advance position. Gilmore drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gilmore jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. pop being controlled here, momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. pop looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gilmore is one step ahead there. pop working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gilmore doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gilmore manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Gilmore drives through with a takedown into guard. Gilmore controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Gilmore passes pop's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gilmore is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. pop doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gilmore. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. pop wants to control but Gilmore is keeping busy.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Gilmore working for a submission but pop is keeping him at bay. Gilmore looking to control but pop is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Gilmore is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but pop is surviving well by controlling Gilmore's body position as best he can. Gilmore is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. pop is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. pop flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gilmore anticipates the leg and manages to get behind pop and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gilmore slips an arm under pop chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gilmore has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gilmore is squeezing on pop like an anaconda would it's prey. pop fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calliente throws a sloppy head kick and Delph moves out of range easily. Delph gets the takedown into side control. Calliente tries to improve position but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Delph tries for a kimura but Calliente is defending well. Delph looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Calliente is avoiding damage well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Delph working away. Delph is putting a hurting on Calliente here, landing some big shots from side control. Delph tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Calliente can do anything to dispel that myth. Calliente tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Delph wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Delph in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Calliente is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice sprawl there from Rico as McDonald shoots in. Rico moves into range and connects with a jab. McDonald shoots for a takedown but Rico saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Rico connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Rico shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McDonald's guard. McDonald wants to sweep here but Rico controlling him for the moment. Rico decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Rico throws a series of punches but McDonald avoids them all with ease. Rico fails to land with a series of punches.
McDonald takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Rico tries to clinch but McDonald moves out of range. McDonald doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rico counters with a nice double leg into guard. Johnny Rico has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rayray McDonald. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McDonald keeping full guard, as Rico tries to pass. McDonald wants to stand but Rico is controlling the position. Rico has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McDonald looks gassed! Rico lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Rico throws a strike but McDonald rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McDonald distracts Rico with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Rico on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rico tries to get out of the position. McDonald wants to control from the top but Rico keeps moving. McDonald pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rico is keeping the position for now. Rico is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. McDonald gets to his feet - Rico follows without any prompting. Rico closes the distance and clinches. Rico tries to break the clinch but McDonald is controlling the position. Rico prevents a body shot from McDonald. McDonald jumps into guard, dragging Rico to the mat.

Rico decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Rico wants to pass the guard but McDonald is defending well. Rico knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McDonald on the ground. McDonald is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rico scores with a couple of nice shots. Rico trying to pass the guard but McDonald defending well. McDonald is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Rico pulls his head out easily. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McDonald trying to control here.

Not this time though. Johnny Rico overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rico slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. McDonald stands up from Rico's guard - McDonald perhaps looking for a knockout. McDonald gets caught flat footed, as Rico shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Rico chips away with some ground and pound. McDonald trying to keep a closed guard but Rico is proving a slippery customer.
Rico decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McDonald gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Rico counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps McDonald thinking. McDonald tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Rico to counter with a crisp jab. Rayray McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Rico. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McDonald takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. McDonald doesn't succeed with the takedown and Rico counters with a one-two to the body.

Rico has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing McDonald to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Rico is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - McDonald pulls down on the head and he's put Rico to sleep! This one is all over!

Power closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Power lands in his opponent's guard. Power trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Power trying to control but Sterns is working from the bottom. Sterns is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Power gets caught flat footed, as Sterns shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sterns slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Sterns has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Power is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sterns yanks on the arm and Power is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sterns.
