The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Severence tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maxwell swats him away and circles back towards the center. Severence closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Severence lands in his opponent's guard. Severence wants to control from the top but Maxwell keeps moving. Severence is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Maxwell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Maxwell looking for a sweep. Not yet Maxwell, not yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maxwell keeping full guard, as Severence tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Severence trying to control but Maxwell is working from the bottom. Severence trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Maxwell swats away the attempt to clinch by Severence.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maxwell stalks Severence and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Severence's face. Severence staggers backwards, shaken. Severence does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Severence lands with a nice body kick. Maxwell looks gassed! Severence gets the takedown into side control. Maxwell wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Severence has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Maxwell's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Maxwell is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Severence!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spies wants to clinch up but Willams keeps it at a distance. Willams gets caught flat footed, as Spies shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Spies tries to stand but Willams is controlling from the bottom. Spies with a nice head shot there. Spies might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Willams working for submissions but it's allowed Spies to get to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Willams tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Spies is pressing down on Willams's thigh, looking to free his foot. Willams is holding on for now. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Willams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Spies lands a heavy elbow. Spies working Willams over with strikes here. Willams squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Spies throws a hook but Willams blocks it. Spies darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Willams tries to kick Spies off in order to stand up. Spies Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Spies is putting a hurting on Willams here, landing some big shots from side control. Spies goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Willams rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Spies's guard! Nice work there by Willams! Willams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Spies works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spies throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Willams escapes and throws Spies's legs to the side, diving into side control! Willams scores with punches from side control. Spies gets back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Spies manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Willams must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Spies wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Willams manages to pass to side control. Spies manages to get to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spies is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Willams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spies but Spies pushes him off and we're back to square one. Willams avoids the body shot from Spies.
Spies bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Spies is looking to take a break and control but Willams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Spies looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Willams is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Willams tries to roll over but Spies keeps him under control. Spies seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Willams gets full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spies stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Willams swivels though and keeps the full guard. Spies working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Willams wants to sweep but no luck. Spies wants to pass the guard but Willams is keeping the position. Spies postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Willams is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Spies, into his guard. Willams postures up.
Spies lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Willams! Spies postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Willams looks a forlorn figure.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Spies landing punches. Spies breaks from Willams's wrist control and lands an elbow. Spies looking to control but Willams is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Spies lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Willams is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Spies locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Willams is forced to tap!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mitchell fails with a takedown attempt. Mitchell tries to clinch but Sawyer is having none of it. Mitchell shoots in for a takedown but Sawyer shows good takedown defense. Mitchell tries for a takedown but Sawyer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hardy is rocked! Hardy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Hardy misses with a body kick. Ziskie takes the fight into the clinch. Ziskie scores with a nice hook to the head. Hardy goes for a takedown attempt but Ziskie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Hardy. Ziskie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hardy lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ziskie's sensitive parts. Hardy throws a head kick that Ziskie semi-blocks.
Ziskie scores with a one two! Hardy had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Oh Hardy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Ziskie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hardy. Hardy tries to land a front kick but Ziskie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nice sprawl there from Ziskie as Hardy shoots in. Hardy seems to have got his legs back now. Hardy throws a jab when Ziskie was well out of range. A punch combination from Ziskie misses. Ziskie scores with a jab to the head.
Hardy doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Hardy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ziskie connects with a nice cross there... Hardy is looking wobbly and Ziskie recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Hardy to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Ziskie jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arippa throws a series of punches but Vo moves out of range. Arippa takes the fight into the clinch. Arippa lands an uppercut. Arippa breaks the clinch.
Vo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Arippa as he jumps to the side. Arippa clinches up against the cage. Arippa lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Vo. Arippa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arippa misses with a few strikes there.
Vo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Vo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Arippa fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vo manages to avoid it. Arippa throws a right and a left that Vo avoids nicely. Vo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Vo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David Vo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Arippa clinches with his opponent.
Vo jumps guard but Arippa stands there with Vo around his waist. Vo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Arippa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Vo takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Vo is rocked! Arippa fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oh Vo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Arippa cracks Vo with a left hook right on the temple and Vo goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Arippa lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Vo is OK!
