0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Apollo Creed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Nelson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Creed throws a head kick but Nelson moves out of range.
Nelson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Creed. Creed throws a nice looking combination but Nelson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Some wild striking there from Nelson.
Creed thuds a left hand into Nelson's body. Nelson tries to clinch but Creed moves out of range. Creed doesn't manage to clinch there - Nelson circles away.
Nelson stalks Creed and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Creed's face. Creed staggers backwards, shaken. Creed throws the left hand but Nelson avoids the punch easily. Nelson shoots in for a double leg but Creed sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nelson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Creed counters with a one-two to the body. No joy there for Creed, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Creed misses with a straight left. Creed throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nelson sees it coming and avoids it easily. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Creed. Creed just misses with a punch to the body.
Creed dodges the punch combination from Nelson.
Nelson misses with a double jab
and Creed counters with a single leg into guard. Nelson didn't expect that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Creed would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Nelson looking for a sweep. Not yet Nelson, not yet. Nelson has his foot on Creed's thigh. Nelson shoots for a double leg takedown but Creed sprawls well. He's pushed Nelson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nelson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Creed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Creed stuffs the takedown attempt from Nelson. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet. Apollo Creed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Nelson. Creed will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! THE STINGER closes the distance and clinches up with Leino, looking for a takedown. THE STINGER pushes Leino against the cage but Leino circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. THE STINGER is looking to clinch but Leino is avoiding it.

THE STINGER is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Shamrock could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Shamrock throws a leg kick but Blo checks it. No joy there for Blo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shamrock tries to clinch but Blo moves out of range. Blo misses the shot to the body. Blo thows a leg kick but Shamrock checks it and Shamrock holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Blo has had enough of the clinch but Shamrock keeps him there for the moment. Shamrock tries to pull guard but Blo won't allow it.
